I upgraded my iPhone 4 and iPad 1 to iOS 5, enabled on both devices the notification centre on the locked screen, yet despite doing the appropriate slide gesture, it does not appear.
Anyone else have this issue? Any ideas what the problem could be ?

Nothing on homescreen as well. Not even my weather widget or upcoming reminders (for today!). This cant be how this was intended to work. Otherwise I agree, useless!
I am getting banners when a text comes in but I get banners even from apps I have turned off (GoogIe Voice)
I am sure Apple will fix this but very disappointing following the let down on the Iphone5
Oh the elation at 2.30 in the morning to be 'Apple legal' again once my download had finished only to be left so flat and dejected by the attempt at a simple notification process!!!
This can only be either sheer arrogance or pure stupidy by Apple to get this so badly wrong. For many, Lockinfo was the main reason for jailbreaking so how could they get it so wrong?
For anybody who hasn't used lockinfo then i'm sure this is an improvement for you. For the masses that have then be prepared to be disappointed...
