new iCloud email account not working - duplicate/ambiguous directory match error

That is my exact problem too. I will keep reading and see if this has been resolved.

I tried using the New @me address on the iPhone but it keep changing back to the old @mac account.

I am still having the problem. My iCloud works fine except for mail. I get this error when I try to login to my mail on iCloud.com

Since lion using icloud (mess) instead than mobile me been a disaster, SENDING MAIL work fine, the problems ???? NOBODY RECEIVE THE MAIL ????? image that all this people that should have reeive the email and at the end get nothing ?? this ICLOUD has been DESACTIVATED ON ALL MY COMPUTER (EXCEPT MAIL) AND STILL I have more problems with mail than ever before................. icloud been nothing less than a big flaw and joke here, APPLE SHOULD HAVE KEEP MOBILE ME (After all this years working well with all wonderful features) and now this icould garbage ????? what going on at Apple?????? Well MORE and MORE I use other products (softwares than apple, at least I will do not get bad surprise here........

Having the same problem and contacted Apple got moved around to a senior tech and then they notified me that Engineering is looking at my account because it is their issue and will take two to three business days to resolve. I was please with their assistance, I got calls back, direct line to call the same tech working on the issue etc... Didn't think about deleting everything and starting over...

Mine has spontaneously started working. Maybe they are going through and fixing these things!

I have just migrated to iCloud. I had a Mobile Me account. I also had an Apple ID account that I use to purchase iTunes stuff.

Everything works except Mail. Whether web, iPhone or iPad I no longer receive mail to my Mobile Me (now called iCloud) account. On the web, it says "Cannot Load Mail."

I've tried "resetting" my password for the Mobile Me/iCloud account via the Apple ID website as was suggested in these forums. That did not help me.

After waiting and trying for several hours, I followed one chaps' example and deleted my iCloud Mail account on my computer. I closed Mail. I went into the System settings. On iCloud, I changed to the new password, and was sure to select check Mail and Notes. That took a few minutes of a spinning wheel, but finally seemed to "finish" whatever it was doing. I then went back into Mail to try and load the iCloud account. However, when I try to Add Account in Preferences,I receive the following error "Logging in to the iCloud IMAP server "p99-imap.mail.me.com" failed. Make sure the user name and password you entered are correct, then click Continue. If the info isn't correct, you cannot receive messages.

I tried with my old password.

Failed again. (same message)

So I went ahead and clicked continue, after trying again with the correct new password.

That was pointless. On the next page one is unable to enter the server address with iCloud selected as the type of account. It's is grayed out and unselectable. You can't type in any information.

So, I'm actually behind square one. iCloud Mail account does not work online. It does not work on my iPhone or iPad, and I no longer have the mailbox for it in Mail on my computer.

Please help me. I'm not doing something right.

I have just done a conversion to icloud primarily to keep apple happy. I am running outlook on win 7 coth latest versions. I can now no longer access my email either from outlook or by logging into icloud. I get the same reply when I use the icloud app about it being a valid account but not an icloud account (even though I had confirmation I had been migrated). Now no email access by any means. This si a joke. No way to contact apple or receive ANY support. Get real apple. Are you forcing me to cancel all me apple email accounts? Its clear I won't be able to swap to icloud on my old G5. I currently have 3 email accounts 2 used from my G5 for personal and business from my windows machine. This is rubbish.Anyone have a fix for any of this?
