Photos gone after ios 5 update

Thanks so much! After deleting those files, I got all my pictures back.

Does Apple recognize that this is an issue with the iOS 5 software update?

dumb question, does it matter what computer you use to delete files. I originally upgraded to IOS5 on the desktop and tried to delete files on the laptop. It didn't work

I have the same problem. I bought an iPod Touch 4G 64GB last June. After upgrading to the new iOS 5, most of my pictures, apps and music is gone. Every time I try and recover my backup the system crashes. I tried to call their technical support to restolve the problem but I was told that I had to pay $29 to solve the problem that they created. This is a disgrace.

People are saying restore the iPod but with mine that didn't help.

thank you so much, i backed up and deleted the 3 files /Media/PhotoData/MISC/Info.plist, /Media/PhotoData/MISC/DCIM_APPLE.plist and sure enough... Im out of the wife's doghouse!!!

photos are back and all are happy!!!

btw, I use an IMAC not windows.

Hi Larry, I have had the same issue. I updated the iTunes to version 10 and the IOS in the iphone 4 to version 5, and all my roll photos have disappeared. I have 0,47 Gb of "other data" in yellow bar in the iphone (I think those are my photos). I have installed iexplorer but I also get the error message "Unable to start the iPhone listener process. This error may occur because iTunes is not installed". If you have found any solution to this it would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem as Zimmerman. This is the message:

Cannot use iexplorer as a result. Running as an administrator makes no difference. Besides I am the administrator on my computer. And I use itunes and all is up to date.

Just wanted to add my thanks. Also, when I first deleted the files and rebooted, my photos weren't there. Someone recommended connecting the phone back to my computer and that worked! Thanks

how come it worked for everyone pretty much...it did not for me...i followed all the insturctions but i can't get back my old pics and videos...hundreds of them.

I really want to be part of the 'Thank you thank you thank you' club!! But I can't seem to get any of my pics back yet. In iExplorer I don't see the file /Media/PhotoData/PhotosAux.sqlite. Can anyone shed any light please?

Mine are also gone and am unable to retrieve mine for my friend. I sync 4 Iphone's on my laptop. 2 of them worked out just fine but 1 just did not for some reason.

My problem is that although i have the camera roll still, two albums that i added to the phone with various pictures (not taken with the iphone camera, but sent via mail etc) have disappeared. i went through the points above, but the lost albums did not reappear.

any thoughts?

Hi! can you help me? i've installed the programme but when i try to run it, it says

" To run this application, you must first install one of the following versions of the .NET framework: v4.0.30319 contact your application publisher for instructions about obtaining the appropriate version of the .NET framework. "

Please help, i have over 2000 photos and videos on my camera roll, thanks!
