Wireless sync not working.

I just updated to iOS 5 and running iTunes 10.5 on a MacBook running OS X 10.6.8...everything seems to running fine except for the ability to wireless sync to iTunes. I checked the option in iTunes, plugged the iPhone 4 to a power source and yet the Sync option is unavailable. Only when the iPhone is physically connected to the MacBook does this option become available on the iPhone. Please advise,

My problem is that my iPod touch, 3rd generation, syncs wirelessly but my iPhone doesn't. Everything is the same in their settings. The only difference is that my iPod touch isn't being backed up in the cloud, it's on my computer instead, whereas my phone is. It showed the phone under device, then, when I plugged it into an outlet, iTunes said it wasn't on the network. What network? My wireless network? Cause, yeah, it is...If it's not that network that it was talking about, then I don't know.
