Hey there. I just updated to iOS5, and I can't receive any text messages. I can send them, but when I do, it says that my SMS mailbox is full, and I need to delete some messages in order to receive any. I can see new texts after I reset my phone, but I obviously can't be doing that everytime I want to check my messages. Help?

Ok I've spent hours on the phone with Apple. All they have been able to tell me is to restore the iphone to its original settings and then instead of restoring to an older version, you create a new phone on itunes. It does work, but you lose everything. I don't know what else to do at this point

anyone have any luck restoring SMS? I have restarted my phone, still not receiving the texts that were sent. I was able to iMessage with someone, so I tried turning that off and still haven't received any SMS.
I've been having this issue as well. I've done everything - including restoring as a new phone - and nothing. At one point I turned my phone off for a few minutes and when I booted it back up, it loaded all my new texts... and then the little SMS Full warning popped back up and nothing since then.
Anyone having any luck?

Well this is great.
I just ended up making sure I had everything backed up and then restored my phone as a new one and it worked, it's just taking forever loading everything back on
yup! same problem here. I went through a bunch of my old texts and deleted them as well and still no luck. With the way my day has gone Im afraid to reset as a new phone...

Trying to use the I messenger between my iPod touch & iPhone. Both have the same apple ID. The touch does not receive messages. Do the need seperate apple IDs?
More than likely you'd need seperate ID's but I'm not 100% sure since neither iMessage or SMS is working for me.
so you backed everything up, and restored as a new phone? and are now loading your old texts and contacts and what not back on to your phone? How? I thought if you restored as a new phone you lost everything regardless?
thats what i thought too and its the main reason why i dont want to do it. I have so much on here for work... gah this is BS! come on Apple, help us out!
