How do i change my icloud id on my iphone?

Now to add a new twist to this thread. I signed up for a Me.com (paid for it) several years ago. I used an ID different from my Apple ID. When I went to set up iCloud I managed to use my normal Apple ID. I do not want that one, I want my Me.com ID since I paid for it and should be entitled to more storage (or something like that).

Is there really no way to change an iCloud ID? If so, could I not have two?

I'm sorry to say that this is really klugey and DOPEY. Why in the world would ANY login, whether its iCloud or Walmart, not be editable? Why in the world would you have to delete any an account or anyhing? Just make the freakin' field editable. d'oh.

I go to Settings on my iPhone, click iCloud. It tells me my ID is incorrect [it is correct in the Store]. I click EDIT - and ha!!! It is NOT editable. Hellooooo Apple. Why ask me to edit an uneditable field?

I had similiar problem. My original email address used for iCloud and apple was hacked and I had to cancel it. I changed my apple id, but couldn't change the iCloud id on my iPhone. Here's what I did: in settings, go to iCloud and tap delete account, then tap save to iPhone. This deletes the iCloud id, but saves everything to the phone. Then in settings, create new iCloud account. I put in my new email, which is now the same as iTunes/apple. Then I did a back up from my phone. Now everything that was saved from old iCloud account was saved to phone, then backed up to new iCloud account. And the right email is showing on my phone in iCloud.

I had to change my email address and apple id for personal reasons, struggled on what to do for my ipad... here is what i did.

in settings, icloud. delete account but save everything on device. I had already changed me apple id on my desktop, so i just signed in to icloud with my new id.

my app store and itunes still didn't work... so in settings, store there is a sign out button. I signed out of my old apple id and signed in to my new one. then a dialogue box appeared saying my id had changed and did i approve...

worked perfect.

The option to save to iPad while deleting iCloud acct does not come up for me...it simply says all will be deleted. This is infuriating as the fact that changing your apple id does not extend thru iCloud is contrary to the very concept of iCloud!!!

After the dire threat of pushing the red button is a comforting "keep all info on iphone" option.

Just back up to itunes first.

I did press the red button and the mssg I got was - are u sure? Everything will be deleted for this iPad. Are I saying that after that it will ask to save it? That doesn't make much sense, either, but I will trust what I hear here, obviously.

1. Back up device to iTunes.

2. In iCloud settings turn off all your synced applications. ( first opportunity to save to device)

3. Press the red "delete account" button at bottom

4. Hit delete again**

5. Now you will be given the option to save all synced info on device.

6. Reopen settings, then setup iCloud with a new user name.

Yay.

Works on 5.0.1 as well.

DELETE THE OLD A/C, and the new id u have created will automatically pop up.
