Pages and Numbers Not Syncing in iCloud

Bookmarks, Contacts and Calendars are all syncing with icloud. Works beautifully, however when I change a Pages or Numbers document on my MacBook Pro, it doesn't sync with my ipad. itunes 10.5, ios 5, Lion 7.2 in use. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks, Rob

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.1), 2.2 Ghz Intel Core i7, 8 GB Ram

(Although I might post this in a separate post) I've been trying to download some of my documents that arent showing up in iCloud via Time Machine. However, when I try to restore the documents from Time Machine, it asks me for my password and then acts like to is restoring the file, but it says "Zero bytes of xxxxkb - Estimating time remaining."

Hey, recently I just found a way to fix this. Everything - turning off iCloud, documents, deleting apps, nothing worked! What I did was go to settings , general, reset, reset all settings. Tap it and it will ask you for your password and say that it won't delete any content (it doesn't). It will reboot so wait a couple minutes then come back once it's done. Now open settings again, and connect to your wifi network, you will have to enter you password again. Then once you are connected and have made sure Internet is working, (and after making sure pages iCloud sync is on in settings , pages) open pages and the documents should magically sync! Once they have all downloaded, go back into settings and go through everything and make sure to change the settings back to whatever you set it to before (if you can be bothered) the main thing you need to change is adding your password again. Also you may need to turn settings, notifications, mail, show in notification center and turn on banners because the are off by default.

Hope this helps because it took me 3 months to figure this out.

I must say, I'm very disappointed with iCloud. 😟

I just switched from Excel to Numbers and I love it. One of my biggest reasons for switching was so that I could use iCloud and manage my spreadsheets from both my computer and my iPad. Well, iCloud didn't want to sync my documents, what a bummer.

I found T2YUKI's post very helpful, it seemed to fix the problem....for one day. It synced and all was great, but it's not syincing anymore and I'm bummed out. T2YUKI's solution is a bit of a process, not too bad if I'd only have to do it once, but to have to do that every day??!! That's crazy.

Please, Apple, Pull it together and make iCloud work!! I'm a stock owner and I'm pretty bummed at how the stock is taking such a plunge, I bet that if you guys could get things working right, the stock might start going up again.

Apple used to be the one company who's products I could confidently trust to work properly, but that seems to be changing - I really don't want to see Apple go the way of Microsoft, but it's not looking good..

Do you HONESTLY think there would be this many people frustrated with the poor performance of document management in the iCloud if the solution was as simple as using Mountain Lion. Get real. I am currently using the latest Apple OS and still have the same issues everyone else does. I have even called Apple and their tech support couldn't fix the problem. What does that tell you?

I found that a little offensive too. I'm not THAT dumb, sheesh!!

I just got off the phone with tech support, they had me sign out of iCloud on my Mac and sign back in. It worked, but hopefully this fix will stick longer than a day this time. I don't want to have to sign out and in every day in order to keep iCloud docs syncing properly...

I got the same problem sometimes ago.

But before I got any reply from anyone, the problem fix itself.

Then I realise the problem is not your mountian lion or ipad or iphone.

The problem is in apple icloud server can't handle the traffic.

But since my last post, I don't have anymore problem.

But sometime even icloud mail have problem to send email, the server up load so slow that make the computor can't sent an email at all.

Yes, the easy way to fix is sign out and in again. I agree.

For what it's worth...

I had a problem where Numbers on my iPad didn't synch with iCloud and searching for a solution I found this thread.

Eventually, I ended up switching off "Documents and data" in the iCloud settings and then switching it back on again. That made my iPad restart synching docs with iCloud again.

My iPhone and iMac (Mountain Lion) were synching the whole time.

It's back to not syncing...

I had talked with an Apple customer service person, he told me to sign out of iCloud (from my Mac) and sign back in. I did that and my Mac was able to sync with iCloud again (specifically Numbers documents). Well, that only lasted a day or so, it's not syncing again. I tried signing out and back in again, this time it did not fix it.

My iPad seems to sync Numbers documents with iCloud just fine (I was able to confirm by visiting icloud.com and seeing the modify date & time of the Numbers doc), so the problem seems to be only with my Mac. (Mac Pro, 10.8.2.)

When I open Numbers, load a document from iCloud (but it's really just in cache locally), then make a change and try to save, this is everything that comes up in console:

I'm not really sure what's going on. I do have little snitch, but I've turned it completely off for tests, so that's not interfering. I'll wait a day or two, see if any great ideas pop up, then I'll call Apple tech support again.
