Pages and Numbers Not Syncing in iCloud

Bookmarks, Contacts and Calendars are all syncing with icloud. Works beautifully, however when I change a Pages or Numbers document on my MacBook Pro, it doesn't sync with my ipad. itunes 10.5, ios 5, Lion 7.2 in use. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks, Rob

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.1), 2.2 Ghz Intel Core i7, 8 GB Ram

Very, Very dissapointing. I had an iPad and I recently converted to a MacBook Pro because I believed people when they said that Apple products integrate well.

I also bought numbers on both my iPad and Mac just to find out they don't do exactly what they said they would do.

Apparently Apple expects all of their users to understand that when they says the Mac version of Numbers "integrates with iCloud," they mean "you can download a file from the internet and edit it. You can then re-upload it (maybe) to be used on your other devices."

I hope some Apple employees are embarassed by this.

I am using mountain lion right now and just tried to save a document in pages but there was no icloud option, i had to upload it using the web option and there is some iwork beta thing u can use the web as well for sharing... Still not incoropating the icloud into the desktop versions, i did notice in text edit there is a direct icloud save feature, however, i dont know of a textedit app available on an iOs device... And no, im not talking about notes, i know that usies an icloud like function already and that works well too, but its pages and the other iwork apps we would like to work with the icloud feature they say is available...anyways, i am just using a developer preview of mountain lion so maybe in the final release they will incorpoate that feature, however, i just dont see it happening... also, i think its more of a PAGES feature that needs to be added, not mountain lion... we shall see in the next coming days/months...

Well, having bought my iPad I installed Mountain Lion on my Mac and it makes no difference at all. Syncing still not working with iWork docs - for me at least - and I hate the Lion operating system. It is supposed to save changes automatically in pages, for example, but so often I have lost those changes altogether. And you can't do a 'save to' any more, only a duplicate which is much more fiddly.

yes i am using mountain lion and like the other post say, the icloud featuires are not working the way we wpould all like them to be working... I guess they will eventually work this way, but it doesnt seem like it will work because of mountain lion, i think we will need an iwork update, each individual program will need to update and include an icloud saving feature and a way to access the files through icloud seamlessly, not through a website or some other workaround, we just want it to be there, like adcertised...

Well, TownMouse33, the feature works fine between my iPhone and my iPad, for whatever that's worth. They have announced better integration when Mountain Lion is released later this month. As wattabing mentioned, they may also have to update the Mac side of the iWork apps.

wattabing, if you are running the beta of Mountain Lion, I don't think you are supposed to be discussing it in an open forum like this.

Sorry, i was not aware i couldnt talk about mountain lion in this forum, was just trying to help someone out with some info... It is a nice OS so far, still real buggy, but i have a beta so thats to be expected, just really wanted some more features added, plus i still need to learn a lot of the new featrures that are in the OS as is... Anyways, everybody have a nice weekend... peace

iCloud Document Library

The iCloud Document Library is a convenient, consistent way to access your iCloud documents across all your Mac computers and iOS devices. To find an iCloud document, just open its app. The iCloud Document Library shows your iCloud documents for the app with the most recent one at the top.

So I guess with the final Mountain Lion it will work!
