i am still using snow leopard.
I can understand changes being made to support new gestures, but that shouldn't affect device scrolling, especially on snow leopard.
Clearly, with the variety of devices affected, this is not a driver issue.
Please give feedback to Apple via the app.
I have just learned that you can hold down Shift while scrolling vertically to scroll the Filmstrip in Split view. An extra button to press now, but it's better than nothing

The shift scroll works for me. Normal scroll works with a vertical film strip. Also, with the horizontal film strip, pushing my scroll wheel left or right does what scrolling used to do. I have a scroll wheel that works in 2 dimensions. But the left/right movement is a PITA. I think I will try to get used to a vertical film strip -- even when scrolling worked I often got confused about whether I was moving left/right based on up/down on the wheel.
And I left feedback for Apple asking them to restore the old behavior.

Just noticed that my new Logitech wireless mouse will scroll the strip with the shift key.
My old Wacom mouse must be the issue.
