lock screen notifications not working

I just upgraded to iOS 5, and I have an iPhone 3G S 32GB. Notifications are working -- I receive them, badges work, the pulldown works -- but I don't see any notifications on the lockscreen. I've double checked to make sure that all the apps I want have "View in Lock Screen" on, but nothing is showing in the lock screen. When I double tap the home button, the camera icon pops up, so that's working. But no notifications.

Anybody have any suggestions, or experiencing the same problem?

Yeah, this is really a let down. If im doing it correctly, I get something when an SMS comes in, just like I did before ios 5. I also get something when an email comes in. Pretty nice. But thats it!

I've elected to have weather on the lock screen, but nothing! I have to unlock and then pull down to get the weather. Hardly worth it.

Am I missing something here?

I tried adding a calander event and locked the phone; but it does not show.

I then tryied adding an alert for the event for the day and locked the phone and it did not show.

I then set the time for the alert, future to my current point in time, and locked the phone. that time it did work for that event, at the prescribed time. But you are correct in saying that you cannot see your calander events for the day in the locked screen, unless the alert on the particular event(s) is set properly and in the future of the iPhone being locked. And you are also correct in saying that once the iPhone is unlocked and then locked again, all previous notification will not show.

You can't put the weather on your lock screen, only in notification centre.

For those complaining about wanting to see what notifications are left to deal with - thats what the notification centre is for. SImply swipe down and everything is there. It's quite simple.

The lockscreen simply isn't a great place to keep massive lists of notifications, that what the notification centre is for.

I'm having a problem where only these apps are giving me notifications: Mail, Messages and reminders.

No other app seems to giving me notifications anywhere, at all. I've turned them off and on again in settings, I've made sure all the setting are correct but nothing. When I get an @ reply on twitter nothing happens. I don't know that I've even received them!

Do some 3rd party apps not work with notification centre?

I liked your comment and please dont get offended.

After I read your comments, I am sorry to tell I remembered a famous saying from a famous person.

"You're holding it wrong". 🙂.

Whatever notifications we want to set on lock screen, we should be able to set no matter what. thats what I expect. Its not too much. Thats the little I can expect when my Android counterparts are light years ahead in these little personal productivity.

BTW, I have iPhone 3GS and my lock screen notifications are not working. My notification center only shows weather, stocks nothing else... Too much dissapointed.

It is JUST NOT working.

Oh, I think it is a good place. And at least I do NOT think, apple should decide, if the lockscreen is a good place or not. I guess Mutley D brings it to the point. If apple does not react for years - perhaps its time to check alternatives. Given the hardware it's a pitty, given the usability and functionality of OS it seems to be the only way.

... maybe apple reacts...2015
