My iMessage still says "Waiting for activation..."

Updated to iOS5 around noon today. My iMessage still says "Waiting for activation...", someone told me there was a email I was supposed to receive. I never got one. How do I get Apple to resend said email, or more to the point - activate iMessage on my Telus iPhone 4?

There's obviously different fixes working for whatever reasons, etc etc.

To get straight to the point I had the same ' waiting on activation' problem preventing text messaging.

I rang the support section for my carrier, they said that the internet side of things(for that ph number) hadn't gone through yet,( it had been 4 days)...and that they'd get on to it. ...for me to give it about 2 hrs and try signing in again (Apple id) and messaging.

I tried and voila it worked.

p.s Note, I started a new sim card several weeks earlier in a different iphone 4s and everything worked instantly.

...and also on a slightly different tack, my wife's iphone 4s doesn't receive the same amount of signal strength as my iphone 4s when we compare them.

If you didn't receive any activation code for iMessage, then use your apple id. bingo it will get activated as soon as you enter you apple id.

That's not a solution, because signing it with an Apple ID does not allow you to receive iMessage on your mobile number. Any messages sent to your mobile number will go as SMS until you activate iMessage for your mobile number.

Hi,

Please folow below steps :

a. turn off iMessage.

b. turn on iMessage again,

c .pop-up will come which says 'Your carrier may charge for SMS used activate iMessage'

d. now tap to 'Cancel'

e. Now attached SS will pop-up which asks you your apple id password. enter your password.

f.now your iMessage will be on.

Well i had the same problem but i figured that out in mints

If anyone facing this problem you have to go to settings and the restrictions and desable them all

Your iMessage will work perfectly fine. I havent yet know what is it have to disabled in order to allow iMessage work.

*you might really need the restrictions to be activated.

For me i dont need it so I turned it off

Cheers

My iMessage still says "Waiting for activation..."
