Two iCloud Mail Accounts

After installing iOS 5 and starting up my iCloud account, my mail app shows two iCloud mail accounts with duplicate emails.

One has the new iCloud icon and the other has the old MobileMe icon but is labeled iCloud.

What gives?

Man, iCloud has been the same clusterf**k as MobileMe when it came online.

Ok, so let me get this straight:

My Current Status:

Mail: I have two accounts on the left sidebar. One called .Mac Email and the other says iCloud. Identical folders and emails. The iCloud account showed up after clicking on "Mail & Notes" in System Preferences. (I am signed in with my old MobileMe account, i.e. @mac.com address, and before that I had gone to icloud.com/move).

iCal: My Calendars are gone! Completely! There are no Reminders Either. The calendar at iCloud.com is also blank, but the Reminders are there. That hurt, but I'm ok with it. Serenity Now!!

System Preferences: Logged into iCloud with my old @mac.com MobileMe account. The key boxes checked are Mail & Notes, Contacts, Calendars, Photo Stream, and Documents & Data.

What Should I do?

I'm over the calendars, I just want one email account, not two. If I understand you guys correctly, I click in this order:

1. System Preferences

2. iCloud.

3. Sign Out, Follow instructions (Keep Contacts, etc)

4. Repeat 1 & 2

5. Sign In.

6. Enter iCould info (which again, I re-iterate is my old MobileMe @mac.com email and password)

That should leave me with just one email account? How does the MobileMe account within Apple Mail know it should go away?

Anyone know if there's an old calendar file hiding somewhere on the Mac OS?

Thanks

Thanks for the tip! I had the same double inbox problem (iCloud inbox and MobileMe inbox on my iPhone).

After I made sure that all my calendars, notes, contacts, and such were backed up, I followed these steps:

1) Went to "Settings" on my iPhone.

2) Next, selected "iCloud".

3) Scrolled to the bottom and selected "Delete Account".

4) At the prompt, selected "Delete".

5) At the next prompt, selected "Keep on my iPhone".

6) After the account was deleted, I went to "Settings" -> "iCloud" and signed back on with my username and password.

Voila! No more double inbox!

Okay, here's the process. Delete the iCloud account ON YOUR PHONE. (You are not deleting your iCloud account with Apple when you do this.) Accept the warnings, nothing will be lost. [not sure about photostream]

Then simple login to iCloud with the same Apple account ID and password. Hey! You're still you...

Worked for me.
