Music App. In iOS 5 doesn't show Lyrics

I'm wondering whether iOS6 will actually have removed the lyrics in iPhone and iPod, since it didn't return them to iPad. I'm not going to update until I'm sure that that won't happen!

Did they improve the app otherwise or is it still pretty similar to the (bad) 5 version?

Did you put lyrics in the song in iTunes?

I did. Double tap the song's art while it's playing...the screen flips, but no lyrics. Seems like I'm missing something obvious here...but just don't know what I'm doing wrong.

No, just a single tap.

Double tap calls up the songs for the playing album. Same as tapping the list icon at top right

Still doesn't work. And I checked Settings: Music to ensure that "Lyrics & Podcast Info" is ON. Weird. Frustrating. So...unApple.

Are you getting the time slider the Replay/Genius/Shuffle buttons when you tap the album cover?

Try this...

1. Quit the Music app.
2. Double tap Home to see the Recently used tray.
3. Tap and hold any icon.
4. Click the red minus sign on all apps in the Recently used tray.
5. Settings > Music. Turn off Lyrics & Podcast info then turn it back on.
6. Tap the Music app and try again.

Yes.

Wiped my phone over the weekend, and restored it with the latest iOS update. No lyrics.

Thanks for the info, hopefully with the big iOS7 overhaul they'll bring back lyrics to the iPad as well (and totally redo the horrible music player app).
