Music App. In iOS 5 doesn't show Lyrics

Hello everybody. Yesterday I updated my iPad 2 with iOS 5. Now in the Music App the Lyrics don't appear anymore. I'm very disappointed and angry about that. Can anybody please tell me if it is a bug or if this was made intentionally. I hope tat this is a bug because the iOS 5 manual for the iPad (Ipad userguide for ios5 - downloaded from ibooks) shows on page 218 the following: "Display a song’s lyrics

Display the album cover by tapping the thumbnail at the top of the screen. Lyrics appear if you’ve added them to the song using the song’s Info window in iTunes." If it is a bug, when will it be fixed? If it is no bug, then I want to go back to its 4.3.5. Can anybody tell me how that would work?

Best Regards

Well this is unbelievable!!!! It's been how many months now and we didn't even get an info on the subject. Are they working on it? Is it gonna be fixed with next update or what?!! This is sooo stupid, for a device that I payed $600 I expect a litlle bit more support for such small and 'unimportant' things... Dissapointing... 😠

Did anyone go through the newly released iPad iOS 5.1 user manual?

Unlike the iOS 5.0 version of the manual the updated one doesn't mention lyrics display at all! And whilst the previous manual made it look like a possible bug to us, i don't see this possibility after reading the new one anymore.

Apple surely IS aware of the missing ability to display lyrics on the iPad and they've opted not to change it. For whatever reason...

This really makes me sad! 😟

FYI: Both iPod touch and iPhone manuals do still mention lyrics display, it's only missing on the iPad manual.

Well, that is the end of this sad story then. Just as I feared. The just removed the feature from the manual.

Now we are left with a piece of junk that freezes and crashes and lacks some of the functionality of the previous one. In return for which benefit?

Sometimes I can understand why Apple goes a certain way even if I dislike it, but this move is completely incomprensible to me.

Has anyone found an iPad app that provides an acceptable workaround to this problem? I found an app called Lyrics View that provides some functionality. It does allow you to display on your iPad the lyrics to a song that you have stored in your iTunes library, but the interface is pretty clunky. I have seen a number of people reference SoundHound, but as far as I can tell, SoundHound only provides access to lyrics that are available from their central database and doesn't allow you to display lyrics that you have stored in iTunes.

Dave

I am with you

this is what I have been saying (I left two posting in similar discussions)

If Apple did a boo boo it will probably be fixed by now since 5.0.1 and now 5.1 and still nothing

also as you mentioned there is no word about lyrics in the manual.

so is this a bug to the point all lyrics existance has been erase from iPad platform? I don't think so.

I left feedback at http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html many of them, almost one to two a week

but yet no answer from an Apple staff. I even went to the Apple store last week when the new iPad was launched and ask a staff, he ignore my question and change subjects....

so bottom line you buy an instrument that can do some things and suddenly Apple decide to add more stuff but remove others...this is not right

so I invite all of you to leave as much feedbacks as you can and demand answers

No

there is Soundhound or Shazam like you mention....but you need to be connected to wifi or 3g and lyrics database not the best.....

weird is almost if Apple have an ageement with these two suppliers of Apps to remove lyrics from iPad music app so we have to be forced to get these two ones...I am just saying

Now question to all of you following this dscusion, do you like the new music app?

I don't at all, i found it very clunky and hard to work around, i prefer by far the old iPod app....

Cheers

This has been a problem since iOS update 2-3 previously-- basically I could just add lyrics to a songs meta-data in iTunes, sync my ipod/ipad and the lyrics immediately sync. Then if I changed the lyrics and re-synced, the change would occur. Now... it does not. Not even through the app Lyrica, that adds the lyrics to the songs, but they still do not sync to device. Major annoyance, since I have a lot of foreign language songs...
