"Apple outlook DAV config has stopped working"

Hi - when syncing Outlook for the first time with the iCloud control panel, I'm getting this error and the sync stops at appointment 1080 out of 1400 or so...

Clearly one appointment is somehow corrupt and it's stopping the sync - however how do I find it?!

Apple tech support got some info from me Friday as well, but I decided to try a few things this morning.

1. Tried deleting a couple seperate calendars I had with recurring appointments in them, just leaving my main calendar - still error

2. Tried archiving old items up to about the begining of this month - still error

3. Tried running pst repair tool - still error

4. Tried deleting old items up to about the begining of this month - bingo... no DAV config error, however after going through some of the setup and sitting on "downloading contacts from icloud" for about 30 minutes, I just got this error: "Your setup could not be started because of an unexpected error"

What an absolute disaster. Finally got it to work, but you can't set the icloud calender as default, so nothing shows up in your "outlook today". What the heck is the point if it doesn't really sync with your calendar... just makes a new calendar? Oh.. and I just got an email from one of my associates saying that he recieved 5 meeting invites from me for a meeting that another associate set up last week. What a mess. I'll just click the sync button in itunes, thank you.

i had the same problem, and it appears my issue may have been with recurring appointments in the past. i deleted some old recurring appointments (and also went thru the archiving and compacting steps that were suggested) and i'm not receiving the error message anymore.

the interesting this was that i was getting the error message while trying to sync, then went into outlook and deleted the appointments that i felt were causing the problems, and then when i went back into the iCloud control panel it said my calendars were syncing. i opened outlook back up and, indeed, the "refresh iCloud" utility in the toolbar had changedfrom showing it perpetually refreshing to allowing a "clickable" icon. it seems that you don't have to re-open the utility and sync everything once you address the root cause of the error.

Hey everyone... I have found the issue with this... It has nothing to do with archiving, or cleaning up your mailbox. It has to do with recurring appointments in your calendar. I have spent the last two days removing appointments, syncing, adding appts, syncing, etc... Also spent two hours on the phone with the helpdesk (thanks Casey). If you go to calendar views, and choose the list option, sort by recurrence. Remove all of the appointments with recurrences, and try iCloud again. This should work. You might have to redo all of your appointments that repeat.

I am getting the same message: "Outlook DAV Config stopped working" but for me it occurs at the end of about 10,000 records. If you cannot have recurring appointments in Outlook in order for wireless synching to work, what is the point?

I used to have wireless synching with Outlook and MobileMe. Then one day about twelve months ago Calendars stopped synching. Then one day contacts were copied and doubled. Then attempts to clean everything up wiped out years of appointments in Outlook. Luckily I had a auto back up in the background and did not lose much.

My attempts to call Apple resulted in the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Apple hung up on me twice. I simply pointed out that because I was paying for MobileMe as an ongoing service, they owed ongoing customer support, but they wanted me to pay. RIP Steve Jobs

I am getting same error "apple outlook dav config has stopped working" when it goes to sync the calendar, on a brand new install of Windows 7 64 Bit with Office 2007 - all updated/patched/service packed to latest and a fresh install of the iCloud control panel.

The Outlook is completely fresh. The calendar is empty. I only use the Mobileme/iCloud Calendar so was hoping that it would be created/installed onto my fresh install of outlook.

Should I delete my recurring appointments from WITHIN the web icloud interface??? Or off my iPhone??? Cause there aren't any appointments in my Outlook AT ALL.
