iOS 5 Syncing issues

Updated my iPod Touch to iOS 5 successfully, but now I'm having a myriad of problems syncing, but no iTunes error messages are involved. Here are a few of them:

-Music will not sync or delete from the iPod.

-It seems to be trying to sync my voice memos, after which iOS reports that 15 items could not be synced. See iTunes for more info.

-Though the photo sync has not completed at all (yet, as I have had to keep cancelling to solve the other issues), it wants to only copy 3k of my 18k photos. Also, it STILL won't sync Photoshop Documents (.PSD) like it used to!!

-The same videos also still seem to sync despite being UNCHECKED in the TV Shows tab of my iPod.

Yes, I've tried restarting everything. iPod (Home and Power), iTunes, even my whole computer (as I shut it down for the night last night).

iPod touch, Other OS, iOS 5.0, iTunes 10.5, Windows 7 Pro

I think I may have figured out my issue with syncing photos where entire albums were empty or missing pictures. I sync only selected folders. I tried everything and nothing worked: deleted caches, reset devices, rebooted, restored, etc. I think the problem has to do with iTunes and the root folder from which to select subfolders. I've done it on one device and now doing it to others so I have not fully verified yet. To fix do this:

1) Reboot PC and turn off the device by holding power button and sliding red slider to right to for good measure; turn on device by holding power button for a few seconds

2) Start iTunes

3) Plug device into USB (I'm trying Wifi Sync now with another device)

4) Go to "Photos" in iTunes

5) Select "Choose Folder" from "Sync Photos from"

6) Choose a subfolder of your original folder

7) Repeat steps 5 and 6 once more and select your original folder

8) Select the appropriate subfolder checkboxes; you should see the "Photos" storage indicator in iTunes change as you check or uncheck the various subfolders

9) Click "Apply" and sync (if apply is not already doing it)

Good luck.

Probably either way could work and just need to force iTunes to rescan the folders again and sych itself up with its internal caches. I have a web site to the pictures and auto backup so I prefer not to move or rename the folders. Should not have to do either. Next issue - why does it take forever to import pictures. The import step takes forever and I've only got a few pics.

My issue is that isn't with previous pictures, they're all there. It's been with trying syncing with the new ones in the Camera Roll, which I then delete off the phone, syncing a smart folder of the last year's photos/videos. It never ***** those up, or asks I want to delete them. Hmm, any ideas? Here's what my settings look like now: pic.twitter.com/KcZHANCD

I have solved most of my syncing issues (by just keeping trying) in the 1st post, so all of my content is there. However, more issues have arisen:

-Tones don't sync even if I tell iTunes to do so. Sometimes it even gets unchecked without me even doing anything!

-Here's the biggest one by far: iTunes: "Syncing Artwork/Data to '...': Waiting for items to copy" and a swirling progress bar. Happens. Every. Time. I. Try. To. Sync.

I'm currently having problems syncing my iPhoto library over to my iPod Touch 4G. I have recently upgraded my MacBook to 10.7.2, iTunes fully upgraded, iPod running IOS5. Everything syncs fine, except my photo library. Not one photo syncs when I select the ALL option or select albums individually. My selected photos total 2276, and they were all on this iPod before the updates, but now when I select them, they only total .01gb in Capacity graph. I've even totally restored my iPod thru iTunes, but the same result...everything syncs but photos.

Anyone got a unique way to force the photos from the iPhoto library on my laptop to my iPod, or is this just another issue that we'll have to wait till the next IOS or iTunes update to resolve?

I had problems moving my music from ITunes to my Iphone. I read here somewhere that it would work if you turned off both your PC and your Iphone then re-connect. You will notice a different prompt on your Iphone music folder. I then Manually added all my music by clicking command A and then dragging them to my Iphone and did the same thing to my playlist but this one had to be moved one by one. Hope it works for you too.

RepeatedRestore Failures, after iOS 5 upgrade

Though we chose Restore from a backup (not Set up as new), we kept getting Restore error “iTunes was interrupted …restore again now?

-Cancel -ContinueRestore -Disable.

I always chose Continue, but kept getting the same error (-34).

Finally, I chose Cancel instead, got into settings for Device [my] iPod, and adjusted some sync settings. (Contacts, Calendar, etc. had sync’d OK, it appeared.) Those steps didn’t help enough until I drastically reduced my Sync’d songs. iPod (8 Gig) capacity now shows 6.35 GB capacity, and I have a strong suspicion that the new OS takes more memory and therefore will not hold as much music as I formerly kept on the Touch. Perhaps the memory limit causes the error when Touch can’t hold all the music, so user has to adjust settings and reduce the music load for Sync.

But my podcasts won’t play. They show up on the Touch podcast list, but appear greyed out and won’t start. How can I get my podcasts to play!

My problem's that my iPhone 3GS (with iOS 5) won't fully sync all of my selected photos/pictures from the specified album. I've tried some of the suggestions on here (i.e. tick box for 'Selected Folder') but they've not been working for me...

... however I have eventually managed to get all my photos to sync now. I used the 'Selected Folder' option and had to individually tick each folder of photos then apply and sync. After doing this for each folder it resulted in all the photos being synced to the iPhone (finally) but so long winded!

SORT OUT AN UPDATE FOR IOS 5 APPLE!
