iOS 5 Syncing issues

Updated my iPod Touch to iOS 5 successfully, but now I'm having a myriad of problems syncing, but no iTunes error messages are involved. Here are a few of them:

-Music will not sync or delete from the iPod.

-It seems to be trying to sync my voice memos, after which iOS reports that 15 items could not be synced. See iTunes for more info.

-Though the photo sync has not completed at all (yet, as I have had to keep cancelling to solve the other issues), it wants to only copy 3k of my 18k photos. Also, it STILL won't sync Photoshop Documents (.PSD) like it used to!!

-The same videos also still seem to sync despite being UNCHECKED in the TV Shows tab of my iPod.

Yes, I've tried restarting everything. iPod (Home and Power), iTunes, even my whole computer (as I shut it down for the night last night).

I had the samew issue on my iphone 4 with 5.01, managed to clear off the unwated sync entry my adding a free cource in iTunes U then sysning the phone, once synced , then i deleted the subscription and remove iTunes U from the sync list on my sevice in itunes all now resolved.

1, subscribe to a free iTunes U course

2, Sync the course material- just one paper.

3, now you can untick iTunes U in itunes for your device.

4, resync device all sorted.

Finally I found a SOLUTION to similar problems on my iPhone 3GS

I tried this iTunes U procedure on my iPhone, which hadn't fully synced playlists or artwork since upgrading to iOS5. It was about the third slightly weird (but potentially wonderful) suggested workaround I'd tried but unfortunately, it failed like the other suggestions I'd found (like playing each track missing artwork, using iTunes Match and iCloud or whatever they are - I reluctantly enabled them but then couldn't work out what they were supposed to achieve).

Logic just kept telling me that it should just sync without needing to do anything extra or random, so perhaps something just wasn't quite right with the basic software or firmware or...? (I've become very tech lazy since having Apple products but I now consider it a luxury I could now never live without!)

So, I finally decided to actually do a full restore on the iPhone through iTunes - something I don't think I've ever done (or previously needed to do) in the 3 years I've had the phone. It took a while going through the motions, but that's not such a bad thing when you can be pretty confident that it is most likely somehow improving the 'health' of the device. I simply restored it from the last iTunes backup and after it finished syncing with iTunes I was very pleased to find that all the artwork and playlists are now complete on my iPhone.

My iPod Nano kept wheeling me forever while syncing. Had it for three months no problems and today it started freezing when I tried to sync a song. Even had to force quite numerous times. Then I read the suggestions above. Nothing seemed to fit so I went to settings on the nano and RESET. Now the sync works fine.

Did not lose anything of importance. Had to re-enter my Nike fitness info, but that's all I've noticed so far.
