This has been an ongoing problem for me as well. It actually started on my desktop with outlook 2007 about a week before the pushing stopped. First the email didnt work at all (but it still worked on iphone and push still worked) after 2 days I could receive emails but couldnt send. After waiting a couple of days and nothing going out I manually changed the port and I could send again. Then last week it stopped as everyone else here on my iphone. I have no idea what the problem is at Yahoo but this for me at least goes well beyond my iphone not getting emails by push or fetch.

Finally looked up problem this morning and found this thread. My Yahoo Mail was not connecting to the server for the last week, but Gmail was fine. I found one entry earlier in this discussion that mentioned reducing the number of messages stored, so I changed my setting from 100 to 50. At that point, Yahoo piped up with a message that my password needed to be entered - so I re-entered it - and voila, everything seems to be working again. Whether the sequence of events was just coincidental, I have no idea - but it seems to me that the password had been somehow corrupted or lost....

Good luck to everyone one this, as it appears that different tactics are in order for all of these individual issues.

I agree, it's just that we're all so frustrated and annoyed...and unable to get answers fron Yahoo or Anybody! It's also random...my push worked once this a.m., but not since and had not worked for 5 days. I have tried all the "fixes" as well. We paid for the phones, we pay monthly for the service, and we have no recourse??? For what it's worth, friends who did not upgrade their 4's to OS5 have sooo many fewer problems. I have tried other sites as well. Lots of complaints, no solutions.

Wow. I did not realize that I had to have the perfect solution in order to contribute. I just signed on to this community for the first time today, and the email from Apple states:

"Have fun: Remember, this is a community of Apple users, for Apple users. Keep it positive!"

Serves me right for having shared a tip that worked for me in this circumstance, for an unknown length of time, and I will be sure to keep my opinions to myself in the future, lest I make any more mistakes.

Didn't mean to step on toes, and good luck to all.

I have a question for the group: does anyone know someone, like a spouse or good friend, who is using Yahoo mail with an Iphone 4 or 4S and NOT having this "push" problem? It is not clear to me whether there is something unique about we users whose push stopped working, or if it stopped working for all users. My spouse has a 4S and Yahoo mail and he says his push is working. But he gets many fewer email messages than I do and reads a lot of them on his pc, not his phone.

I tried every fix that was listed here and none of them worked for me. I think push stopped working about 2 weeks ago or so. But I went back to "Fetch" with a 15 minute schedule and frankly that will work until they get this fixed.

I got one email pushed to me this morning and I thought finally, it's fixed. But that is the only one I got all day that was pushed. I have no idea why I got that one. And the sad thing is it appears Yahoo has no idea what is wrong either. How long have they been "working on a solution" now, at least a week?

I tried setting my account to fetch but maybe I just don't know what "fetch" is. I set it to fetch every 15 minutes. What exactly does that do? I know it checks for mail every 15 minutes but does it give you a notification that you have new mail or does it just download it and it's there when you open the app? If that's all it does don't see much use for fetch when you can just open the app occasionaly. I'm not getting any notifications using fetch so if I'm supposed to I must have something set wrong.

Folks I read all the possible replies and helps here. All u guys need to do is open a new fold and put all the previous emails backed from today and go to the settings and put to fetch for every 15 mins. Make sure to go to Advanced and put for push. This settings will check the email every 15 mins. Believe me it works. I have the iOs 5.0.1 also my email is yahoo just the conventional account.
