Having problems recieving my yahoo email on my iPhone 4 after installing iOs 5. It sends emails (I sent test emails to my other email accounts on my phone and they went through) Just my yahoo email not coming in. I've tried everything I can think of .... help?

Same problem here on and off for over a year, solution? sign up an outlook.com (which has push support on iPhone) account then go to
"Inbox>Options>Sending/receiving emails from other accounts" and add the yahoo account problem solved, push email again 😉
12.03.2012. Push stopped again for yahoo. It's crazy. One week ago it stopped pushing, then all mail on iphone was down, then back to normal and now it stopped pushing again. I'm one step away from swithing to gmail.
I have the same problem, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I would like to ask the indulgence of people in this community about a different Iphone issue. I am working with a different group of Iphone users in another community who all have a problem with the Iphone 5 and the bluetooth in their cars. The problem is that we can call out using bluetooth but incoming calls are either dropped, or go straight to the phone, meaning users have to pick up their phone while they are driving, which is illegal in our states. The folks at Apple we talk with still will not admit this is anything but a random problem, although there are now 17 pages in this community since September and it affects all sorts of cars.
So can you all do me a favor. If any of you own an Iphone 5 and use it with bluetooth in your car, can you please just respond what make, model and year your car is and whether you are having problems or not? Thank you very much for your help.
I realized I haven't updated since I reported the "dummy account" work around back in June. At some point I ended up removing the dummy account and Yahoo still pushed so it was working.
Then a few months ago Yahoo had their mail meltdown which lasted a few days and affected everything. At the time I stupidly removed and re-added my account on my iPad 2 and when the smoke cleared, push worked on my iPhone, but not my iPad 2. About a week later it started working on my iPad 2 again. Later on it just randomly stopped working on my iPhone (still worked on my iPad), but started again a few days later.
This past weekend, push started working intermediately on my IPhone 4S on Saturday and then simply stopped working. It was still working on my iPad 2. On Sunday, it simply started working on my iPhone again.
For the most part it seems to work, but occasionally it has problems (sometimes lengthy).
Now here's the weird thing, I downloaded the Yahoo Mail app from the App Store to my iPhone and when normal push mail stopped working on my iPhone, I enabled notifications in the Yahoo Mail app and that worked. So the mechanism that the new Yahoo Mail app uses is different from the built-in Mail app.
About a month ago, I figured out that iOS periodically makes connections out to a Yahoo server as long as there is a Yahoo Mail account on the device. I'm pretty sure this is used to keep push working. In other words, if this connection fails enough times then push Yahoo Mail will stop working until it works again. Since Yahoo's servers are crappy it fails from time to time, which explains why push just randomly stops working for days or weeks at a time.
So your choices if push isn't working is to wait for it to fix itself (or Yahoo to fix it) or download and use the new crappy Yahoo Mail app.
And push stopped working on both my iphone and iPad today. The Yahoo Mail app still pushes, but not the Mail app built into iOS.
I have 3 yahoo emails on my ipad and have not gotten any mail from them in two days. does anyone have a solution?
No solution really. I've found that sometimes I can get push working again by removing my Yahoo account, rebooting and re-adding the account, but that is hit or miss. Also sometimes, for whatever reason, sending an email to my iCloud email address gets Yahoo pushing again (found that out when I set up forwarding from Yahoo to iCloud).
Even if I do get it working, it will break again with 24 hours. Basically Yahoo is buggy. Any time they make an update to their mail (like the new web mail UI) they tend to break things.. Push just stops working for now reason.
Yahoo has their own iOS app now. It has the same problem with push breaking occasionally, but logging out and in fixes that.
Currently push is working on my iPad, but not my iPhone. Nothing I do works, so I installed the Yahoo Mail app on my iPhone a d use that to tell when I have new mail. The app ***** though and I'd prefer not to use it.
Yahoo has a support article on troubleshooting push in iOS, but it's horribly outdated and has incorrect info in it, such as requiring a cellular connection (looks like they finally removed that) and needing to contact AT&T to troubleshoot. Neither of those is the case and hasn't for a few years. When I contacted Yahoo they simply pointed me to this and ignored follow ups saying it didn't work.
The more relevant article, is probably the one about push not working on Android as that more accurately describes be problem. Unfortunately no solution is offered.
I did find a solution. I opened an gmail account and updated my email with my friends and some other services. It was quite a hastle since I had my yahoo account for a long time but with this push problems it really made me an unhappy costumer. So long Yahoo welcome gmail. It works fine all the time every time!
I am really getting tired of this issue with Yahoo. I got my iphone 4 weeks ago... two weeks with no contacts because Yahoo was broken and now the issue with the mail.... the only reason why I keep dealing with this is that I have important mail being sent to my yahoo account. I will move away from it as soon as I find an effective way to transfer the mail. any ideas?
Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Same thing happened to my mom's iPad. She has 2 Yahoo accounts, and neither one was pushing mail for the last few days. Just keeps saying either "checking for mail" or "connecting". So I thought I would trying deleting and then adding the account back onto the iPad (like it's sometimes suggested), but now, it gives me an error when I try to add the accoutn back!
After 3 days of no mail and trying about 20 different things, I decided to delete my iCloud email account last night. This morning, GUESS WHAT!!! I had mail! WHOOOO HOOOO!
Yahoo Mail push on my iPhone has been broken for days, but now it's broken on my iPad as well. Nothing I do gets it working. It used to be that sending an email to my iCloud email address would some times get it working (have no idea why), but that's not working today. I'm not having problems downloading Yahoo Mail manually, I just can't get push working. It was working fine until about 4 days ago. I suppose I could set my iPad and iPhone to fetch, but I'd rather not kill my battery life because Yahoo *****.
I already have all my email forwarding from Yahoo to Gmail as a backup since there have been times when Yahoo Mail doesn't work and also there was a time in the past when Yahoo was randomly deleting my email. I simply changed the filter I had set up in GMail (archive Yahoo Mail to a folder) to forward the mail to my iCloud email address. So now I get push from iCloud when I get Yahoo mail. It's s stupid round about way of getting my Yahoo Mail to push and it's somewhat annoying as now I get all email twice (once on Yahoo and once on iCloud), but at least I'm getting notified when I get new mail.
Every time Yahoo Mail has problems, I keep telling myself I should switch to GMail, but
doing so would be a major (and I mean very major) pain since I use Yahoo's paid service ($20 a year) so I can have Mail aliases. I have an alias for nearly every site I use. Switching all those few hundred aliases to use another account would be a major pain, especially since I have a few different Apple accounts assigned to those different and there's no way to use the same email address on 3 different Apple accounts.
Usually by the time I get frustrated enough to actually start moving over, Yahoo fixes things and all is well for the next few months. Until Yahoo decides to muck with their servers and break everything.
What's really annoying, is that the problem isn't happening with all Yahoo accounts. I have a dummy account I created awhile back. I added it to my phone and it pushes just fine.
Push is now working 90% of the time on my iPad. I have no idea why, but forwarding my Yahoo mail to iCloud seems to kick off Push working for Yahoo. I disabled forwarding and I'm still getting about 90% of the emails pushed to my iPad.
My iPhone still isn't pushing and hasn't since Friday.
Yahoo mail push has been down on my iphone for 3 days now. I thought it was the iphone but now I know it is yahoo mail. How long before they fix this?
Yeah this blows whats going on Apple and Yahoo!? Mine has not been pushing for a few days now since i noticed it may have been going on a little longer not sure.
