Well - I'm envious, "FlyDH8" that you have it working - and I think you're correct about the variations of servers. When I called Yahoo Help (in the US) they said they were flooded with calls.

And since my last post I filed a trouble ticket on line with "mobile.yahoo.com" and all I got back was a standard, "this is how you set up yahoo mail on an iphone........." Totally useless.

I send back a blistering email and am waiting to see if I hear anything back.

The feedback about forwarding yahoo mail to a gmail account - while quite "clunky" should be a great work- around for those of us too lazy to change our email address - thanks for that suggestion.

Spoke to yet another Yahoo rep today who, after consulting with an Engineer, said, "Oh I just learned that Yahoo small business mail does not support push on the iphone."

So, again, we have mounting proof it is a Yahoo issue about which they seem to be doing nothing....yet some posters on this wall (notably with a Canadian and a French yahoo account) DO have it working.

We could be SURE it is a Yahoo issue but for the fact that everytime someone communicates with them, they get a different answer (which further leads me to believe it IS their issue).

At this point the only real solution is to switch to another mail provider.

I started doing this yesterday also. It is absolutely a Yahoo problem since the iCloud push works fine. I've tried every remedy mentioned many times and nothing fixes it. The forwarding to iCloud works perfectly. Not ideal but until Yahoo fixes it you can either forward it or fetch and I want push! All other "fixes" are temporary and stop working after a minute of initial push.

Thanks for all the info everyone. My phone is still not working despite trying everything and anything suggested here. I also believe 100% that it is a Yahoo problem and although am optimistic, I don't have any real faith in that they will correct it. It seems like it's been a known problem for a while. I sent another email to yahoo this morning asking if they can give me an approximate timetable on when this would be fixed and if they know what the problem is. I'll post back if I get an answer. Also, it may be early here and I may have been looking at all this too much but, how do I get my mail to forward to iCloud? Do I need a Yahoo Plus account to do this? Thanks for everyone's help!

You don't need Mail Plus to do it. On desktop you go to icloud.com to create an @me address. Then log into your yahoo account and go to Mail Options/Forwarding. After email verification you are done. Then you add the email address on your iPhone under iCloud. You can choose where you want your emails to come from (and select a default account) so that you still can use your yahoo mail to a certain extent - not to confuse the recepients mostly.

Hi stevemort,

So if you do that process, when you hit reply to a forwarded email from within the me.com email, what adress does the reply recipient see? The forwarded yahoo or the me.com?

Seems to me they would see the me.com unless you went into the yahoo mail to reply? The default account solution you mentioned I believe works for "new" emails that you are creating from anywhere outside te mail apps.

If the reply came from the yahoo email adress it sounds like a seedless "workaround".

Thanks.

On a side note, perhaps we should all start bombarding yahoo email support about push issues and threaten to leav and see if that garners some attention to the issue?

You can change the "from" in a reply or in a new message. It doesn't matter. Just tap the "from" field and you will get a drop down to choose from. If you are replying it does start using the me.com address first but then you just change it. When creating new it will start from yahoo. The only draw back I've found is that you can't move emails you want to save from me to yahoo folders. I guess I will just save them in a me folder and then temporarily turn off the forwarding to move them to yahoo folders when I get enough to take the time to bother. I don't save all that many so it's not a huge deal breaker for me. Push is far more important.

If you have a reliable way to contact yahoo with the problem I'm all for it. Every way I've tried has been a dead end.
