Updating to version 9.2 isn't possible.

iCloud has finally been released to public. I had high expectations for the photo streaming feature.
For this to work, it said I needed to update iPhoto (9.2) so iCloud could sync photos.
When I click "Check for updates" in iPhoto it doesn't show the update I need. I've checked the Appstore and it already has the iCloud update for iPhoto.

iPhoto was already installed on Snow Leopard. I'm currently running the latest version of Lion (with iCloud) and iPhoto is version 9.1.5.

There are two ways to get iPhoto updates. If you got it at the online App Store it should show up in the Updates section. Launch the App Store from the dock and click on the Updates icon at the top right side of the window. If it does not show there, try the Software Update route. Go to the Apple menu and select the Software Update option. See if iPhoto 9.2 shows up there. You need to have iPhoto 9.1 or higher to see the 9.2 update. Let us know if that fixes your ptoblem.

iPhoto 9.2 does require Lion 10.7.2 or later. Have you thought about upgrading? I like it... 🙂

iPhoto isn't allowing me to upgrade from 9.1.5. I even downloaded from the link below, it says to try the App Store, the App Store tells me to try Software Update and it tells me I'm up to date... 😕

I'm trying every solution suggestion in this discussion,

also this move to trash install from app store thing.

But the app store give me the nice answer:

"These apps cannot be accepted on this computer"

So, i really think it's a problem with the pre installed iLife,

because i also got a 1 month old iMac with the pre installed one.😐

Oh and sorry for my bad grammar too.

Not sure if you still need an answer, but I had the exact same problem, and here was the solution that worked for me:

Your iPhoto app has to be in your "Applications" folder. It can't be in a subfolder that you created. As soon as I moved iPhoto out of the subfolder and back into the main Applications folder, clicking on Software Update from the Apple menu recognized it right away and updated to version 9.2.

I'm running Lion 10.7.2 and iLife 11 was pre-installed.

Hope this helps.
