Still not working for me. 3 days without mail and its affecting my business.
Having same problem... Any updates from Apple yet on a fix?
another " same problem" here .. last 30 min or so. no access on any device or through the icloud web site.
I've got the same problem. Did yours get fixed?
It resolved itself later that same day. I didn't do anything different so it must have been Apple's issue.
I'm having the same issue. Works fine on iPhone, won't work in Mail. Super frustrating that there is no fix.
Mine went down last night too. Can't access my email through Mail or iCloud.
I am here in Germany and I can´t access Mail.

I'm beginning day 4 of no email on phone, ipad, or mac. Engineers are supposedly working on the problem. And, still, Apple describes the icloud status as "all systems are online". I'm finding that increasingly offensive.
Same problem for me! Just when I got everything running fine and transistioned from gmail. How can they be silent about this problem?
I am the end of day 5 with no email. Called a senior advisor who was supposed to be working today four times - never got a call back. Have no idea what's going on.
I'm thinking about transitioning TO gmail. Why did you switch to apple mail?
I know this is an old post but I see it pops up now and then. It just happened to me so I am posting what worked for me with Apple Mail configured for iCloud Mail (SMTP).
From Apple Mail application preferences, Accounts, select iCloud, edit the outgoing mail (SMTP) from the drop down, remove references to the "me.com" and "mac.com" SMTP servers list.
It appears that Mail.app was looking to these older configs to authenticate to which, is not what you want. Just let iCloud do its thing.
Using iCloud is great, but sometimes these nuisances pop up.
Stay frosty.
edbravo,
I don't have the me. nor mac.com servers listed...it's just the standard "iCloud" as it's been since I made the switch. I began having this problem almost simultaneously with a MP, MBP, and iPhone.
Love the new VH reference...
Give Apple Care a call. They had a server issue and they will need to walk you through the specific correction for your computer.
Just a couple of additional thoughts...in the interest of helping others.
If anyone has called Apple Support and would like to share the procedure they were walked through (acknowleding that Apple support may have to twiddle things on their side as well that we may not be privvy to) that would be interesting to read about. What was the procedure that was given by Apple? (No personal information, of-course)
Also, as I was cleaning the proverbial house (just the usual periodic system clean up with Onyx and archiving old files and folders) I got to thinking about the Apple Keychain and whether this was involved with what folks are experiencing and if it was involved in the Apple procedure. Looking at the Keychain I can see where Mail.app could get confused if there was any cruft laying about that may need cleaning that it may be trying to use. Maybe removing these old entries with Mail.app closed and then reopening Mail.app and giving it the pw and selecting to use the Keychain would be of any help.
Stay frosty.
