Keynote remote app no longer working with keynote for ipad

That won't work. In order for the fix to work, you first need to launch and link pic transfer on the iPad and the iPhone, then launch Keynote and Apple Remote. You have to do this each time. It's a huge pain.

For most of my lectures I've had to switch back to Microsoft PowerPoint on a Windows machine until Apple fix this. I can understand that some technology falls by the wayside, but not after two months.

Are you referring to the link to the rowmote app? I didn't suggest this as a fix for the keynote remote problem, (which I agree a fix from Apple is WAY overdue for...)

I was responding to the person looking for a way to comtrol a mac remoteky from an iPad. Rowmote works for that. Sorry, I should have made that clear.

I'm able to link my iOS 5 keynote remote to my iOS 5 ipad keynote on my home network but not on my work network. Is there some port it's trying to access that could be blocked on the network?

Still no update to these new applications running on new hardware.

Is anyone at Apple noticing our distress about this situation? I have another presenation to do this week and

am tethered to my laptop. I had to recruit an assistant so they can push the buttons when I need to circulate around the room!

I had same problem and this solution fixed it.

Shout down Bluetooth service on the iPad then on the iPhone. Shout off and restart both devices. Start up Bluetooth on the iPad then on the iPhone then pair them with your remote.

It worked for me, so now I gomthroughnthat routine everytime I have a presentation to insure I have no problems.

That would be shut not shout. Autocorrect gets me everytime.

Did it fix it forever, or do you have to do this every time?

I don't know it it is a permanant fix or not becasue I just make it part of my set-up routine whenever I make a presentation. That way I know everything is working properly and leave nothing to chance, especially in front of 50+ people.

I tried this and now it doesn't work at all. Before I tried this solution I could at least use pictransfer Lite [sic] to get my iPhone and iPad talking again.

It's back to PowerPoint now.

I have the same problem, and I also only found out about it on front of a class of students.

As a workaround, I'm using the iphone to set up a personal hotspot, and the ipad connects to that fine. I can then launch and use the Remote app on the phone.

It remains to be seen what damage this does to may data allowance.

The Personal Hotspot works for me but only over wifi.

Bluetooth is quite broken

I tried for the first time to use Keynote for the Ipad (1) and remote for the Iphone (4) today and they would not pair at all.

I read all these posts then tried this and it worked (at least on my home wifi network- I have never gotten bluetooth to work at all).

1. launch keynote on the Ipad

2. launch keynote on the iphone

3. in Advanced settings in KN for the Ipad select Remote

4. open remote for KN on the iphone

5. Iphones numeric code is sent to Ipad KN and they pair and work
