Error with Cover Flow on iOS 5

Hi to everybody,

Same experience to me.

Update my 3rd gen Itouch 64 from Ver. 4.3.5. to Ver.5.0 and same cover slow flow (starting by not correct alphabetic order - T instead of A)) with consequent crash of the device.

No any illegal software installed.

I tryed several way to fix the malfunctioning, loosing many of my time.

At the end, following some instructions found on the net, I restored with succes the previous version 3.4.5 and after that all was same of before...perfectly working.

This way to proceed could not be too much legal, but Apple can't keep under troubles its people, considering that since 2 week ago (when I've experienced the trouble) no any solution has been providede by Apple till today!

I have a question to you about your DOWNGRADE from iOS 5 to iOS 3.4.5 . You've said that you found some INSTRUCTIONS in the net that helped you downgrading... can you send me the link or something to these instructions because I'm having THE SAME ****** PROBLEM WITH MY iOS 5 on my iPod 4G

just cant' believe that Apple releases that kind of "UPDATES" for our iOS Devices... :X

Just read this thread after I googled cover flow problems, im having the excact same experience with my Iphone 4 since upgrading to IOS 5.

In a way i'm glad its not just my phone! but hope the Apple geeks are fixing the bug for the next update!? :/

This is BAD apple. You took your bread and butter in the WRONG direction!! Cover flow on a 2nd gen. ipod touch works GREAT, but with ios 5.0.1 on the iphone 4 wtih the SAME music and album art it crashes!!! FIX ASAP THIS IS CRAP!!! Thanks I feel a little better now.

I have a Touch 4^th gen 64gb and yes I updated to rev 5 software and the cover flow has gone butter side down. Slow jerky and crashes back to the main screen oh joy. I have read that the artwork size can be an issue here but I’m not going to reformat all my artwork on hundreds of albums come on apple get it in gear.

Right on, Tim. I considered re-doing my artwork for about...uhhh, a nanosecond. How did this happen? Cover Flow was perfect on 4.3.5. Steve...where are you when we need you? The reality of life.

As I see it people with this problem have 3 options

- Make all of your album art a maximum of 500X500 pixels

- Wait for an IOS update that fixes the problem

- Scrap ipods and buy another brand of music player

Using photoshop to do it with, it took me about an hour to resize, change, and resync all of my 1400 songs(86 albums)

Same **** here. I'm just wondering when Apple is gonna act like a serious company and fix this bug instead of only play the role as the good guys of technology. I got this ****** iPod only because of the cover flow, so **** THIS FUC**** BUG!

As Timothy875 said, I figured out the same.
If I say in other words, you just delete the album artwork. Then in the Albums tab, select all the albums, right-click -> Get Album Artwork. For the ones that you didn't get, just Google the pics, and limit the resolution to 500x500p.
That should fix the crashing.

Yeah same problem here I just got my new itouch 4g white 32gb and once I synced it and went to the cover flow it lagged out and crashed on me and the song became distorted so ya any solutions? Btw I have 36 albums and it still craps out on me Pleazzzzzzzz help

Same problem here, i have a ipod touch 4g 64 gb, in ios 5.01 and i have the same problem, any solution??, please help me.......

Just so everyone knows, the iOS 5.1 update released yesterday fixed Cover Flow on my iPhone 4! Still takes a little time to load the artwork, but is nowhere near as laggy as it was previously. Also fixed this on my iPod touch 4G too.
