iMessage waiting for activation

I too have the same problem. 4 consecutive zeros in my phone number. (XXX) XX0-0008. I took forever to get my phone activated with verizon. I have an open case with apple. I hope it can be fixed.

If anyone facing this problem you have to go to settings and the restrictions and desable them all

Your iMessage will work perfectly fine. I havent yet know what is it have to disabled in order to allow iMessage work.

*you might really need the restrictions to be activated.

For me i dont need it so I turned it off

My problem is exactly as you described. I've changed my SIM card and now I can't use FaceTime or iMessage. I tried to do what you said, but on Settings -> Mail, contacts, calendars -> My info there's no place to select my card. 😟

This idea worked for me.

I was also get this to work by disabling the WiFi and I was able to activate successfully on AT&T's 3G network. Also no restore, no reboot required.

I have had this problem with activing iOS upgrades while connected Cox before.

I have been having the same problem with my 4S. I can only receive & send iMessage from my email.

What carrier do you use? I'm using telkomsel flash.

I have a 0000 phone number too. Apple engineers are aware of the issue, but no fix is available (other than changing your number).

Problem solved by iOS6.
