private calendar appointments?, private calendar appointments?

I really like the ios5 update on my iphone 4, but there is still one integration issue with outlook calendars that I either cannot fiture out or is not present. That is, how can one create an appointment on an iphone that shows up as private when synched to my workplaces outlook calendar?

i found questons on this (ALL UNANSWERED by APPLE) going back to 2008 almost 4 years ago. This is as many have mentioned a basic but importnat time management feature if one is to have a fully implemented calandar on their PDA (the first word is personal right?) bt to marry ones personal life and work/copany life some things should not be vieweable (or need to be) by coworkers or etc. like Dr appoitnment, or kids soccer games or maybe marriage or dept counseling etc. or cancer treatement etc etc etc

Basic stuff. Yes or No woudl do it, and so far due to the lack of Apple reply like Flash support, they are remaining mum or silent.

Hello?

I've read several suggestions by users that the esiest thing is to have 2 calendars. One for work and one for personal.

However, this is not solving the problem. If anything, it's making the matter worse. The whole point of having an MS exchange calendar is so that collegues can look at your calendar and schedule meetings with multiple people without a massive email chain trying to figure out what time works for everyone. If my private appointment is on a separate calendar, then my work calendar shows me as "free."

Seriously, Apple. Just add the fricken "private" checkbox already!!

If you Google "can't mark an appointment private on iPhone/iPad/iOS" you will find that there are thousands and thousands of people that are asking for this feature since 2008, and Apple seems resolved to ignore the outcry.

The point of the feature, and the reason calendar collaboration actually *works* as a practical matter, is to allow people who you share your calendar with to see that you're busy at a certain time of day. In plenty of cases, the details are private (a doctor's appointment, travel reservation details, a romantic getaway with your spouse, your mom's birthday, your anniversary, etc.)

Why won't Apple add this incredibly important and useful feature to the calendar? Is there some strategic decision at work here? If so, it's above my pay grade; iOS is beloved and adopted by millions of people.

Millions of people use MS Exchange at work. iOS, in fact, integrates beautifully with Exchange in almost every other way. Apple does not have a corporate groupware product that competes with Exchange. So why not remove one of the last barriers holding people back from ditching BlackBerries, or for that matter, using their iPads at work n a more meaningful way? It's really puzzling.

There are dozens of other forums with this exact same sentiment. We know that Apple loves the user and values the quality of their experience.

Please, we, the users, implore you, Finish this last mile for us. Add the "Private" checkbox to calendar appointments for Exchange calendars. Or at least do us the courtest of responding with an answer as to why you won't.

......and as many of us arrive from the enterprise or corporate america ruiinng mainframes to exchange servers down to windows we are constantly reminded that this level of customer support and lack of features (private flag, catagories and decent Contact support) is why all Apple products will remain in the consumer world and under the catagory of iTOYS.
