Please help me understand all this. I have read all of the iCloud online support documents and a number of threads like this one, and what is dawning on me, either correctly or incorrectly, is that in order to use iCloud a computer must be part of the loop. And yet I distinctly remember Steve Jobs, in his presentation earlier this year, state that with ios5 we could do everything independent from a computer. In other words, must my MacBook Pro be part of the iCloud process, or can I just tap into the Cloud with my ipad, iphone and, ipod touch and just sync calendars, reminders, etc. between the three of them?
I do not have Lion installed, just Snow Leopard, so obviously I would need to upgrade to Lion if the answer is that a computer must be part of the iCloud process. Assuming, of course, that I choose to use iCloud. Given the mess it's in right now, I'm not that eager, but I would like to make an informed decision.
Thanks for any help given!
