I have filed a bug with Apple on this. I am having the same problem on my Mac and also on my Windows Vista computer.

If you have Finder open; you can watch the file be created and then as soon as the download finishes; you will see it delete the file and folder all together.

My Mac is 64-bit and my Windows machine is 32-bit, both having the problem.

Try playing a video which is not downloading properly directly from the iTunes store (right click the video, select Play). If you get the message "This movie requires Quicktime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes" or an error number equal to that message, then you need to switch iTunes to 32 bit mode, as the required codec is not included or not working in the 64 bit version of Quicktime, which leads to the downloaded videos being deleted upon completion.

There might be other causes for deleted videos, anyway.

Thanks for reporting it to Apple. I was just about to file a Bug Report.

Hi Guys, Changing to 32Bit is how to fix this problem. Incase you need to know how to do that follow these steps -

Step 1: Quit iTunes

Step 2: Locate iTunes in your Applications folder and right-click it.

Step 3: Select "Get Info" from the context menu.

Step 4: Enable the check box "Open in 32-bit mode"

Step 5: Restart iTunes.

Hope this helps 😉
