I don't understand the responses either. They seem completely off topic.
What I'm trying to do is simply download the "Getting Started" videos from Apple:
http://developer.apple.com/videos/ios/
When I click on the "View in iTunes" link for those videos one of two things happens:
- the video downloads and appears in the iTunes U section of my itunes library
or
- the video shows as downloading, runs through progress
- after the video finishes downloading it appears greyed out in my itunes library
- I can not play it
- There's a 'get' button I can use to download it again, however the same thing happens
- The video is getting downloaded in the 'Downloads' directory of my iTunes library
- After the download completes it gets erased from the Downloads dir.. and I have no idea where it goes
- If I snatch the .m4v file from the download directory before itunes erases it, I can verify it is the correct video
Seems to be some problem with iTunes figuring out where to store the files. Most of the files I'm trying to download are under 'iOS Development Videos' in iTunes U. The directory exists on the filesystem, and some of the videos download and have ended up in that directory. However, others just error out consistently and won't appear in my library.
Not sure what folks are talking about with respect to creating videos. I'm having a much simpler problem just trying to download and view main developer resources.
