am trying to watch the videos on the new icloud etc in safari on the apple site and I keep getting the message
'the file you are trying to play has failed to finish downloading and can no longer play'
any ideas?

So why are you trying to use a DivX player?
If you have the DivX extension in safari, remove it (safari preferences --> extensions). If somehow a downloaded move is causing some divx player to launch change the file assoication with Finder's get info on the file.
Update:
You should remove DivXBrowserPlugin.plugin in your /Library/Internet Plug-Ins and relaunch your browser.
