iOS 5 update deleted my phone contacts, photos and text messages!

Just like almost everyone out there that got excited with the iOS5, I downloaded and upgraded my iPhone4 to the iOS5. After hours of error messages popping up and a sleepless night, my phone was finally on the iOS5. Then I realised all my contacts, photos and text messages were gone! All that is left are my apps and music! I tried restoring my phone twice already and I still have the same problem! I updated my phone to iOS4.3.3 last month so it should have automatically backed up phone but I cant seem to find that file! This *****!

If you synced your contacts and photos they should be on your computer. What backups are listed in iTunes > Prefernces > Devices. Any one of them recent? If you use a Gmail account I would suggest syncing your contacts with that account. This way if you do lose your contacts they'll be available in Gmail. You can also sync Address Book with your Gmail account.

This may help some, but i had a similar problem but only my contacts were deleted. All I had to do was plug my iPhone into my laptop, go to info, and under sync contacts with I hit all comtacts. Hope this helps!

This may be too simple, but it worked for me when the same thing happeded to me... Go to Settings, then into iCloud. Turn off the Contact sync. Go to your contacts... that is when mine showed up. I then went back into iCloud and turned it back on and the contacts stayed there.

Hey! Have you managed to restore anything??

I don't use iCloud and the VERY SAME thing happened to me after i did the update!!!

The strange thing is that at the time of the update I had lost contacts, notes etc I had added the previous week (not everything). That happened in August.

After that I resigned and went on on holidays. New pictures, videos, contacts, notes and so on.

Last week it was the first time i wanted to Syncronize all my stuff on the Mac, and surprize! I got the lost info from August back but I LOST EVERYTHING FROM THEN ON!!!! 😟 ...apparently on the pretext that some backup back then was not complete and it asked if I wanted to finish it...!! At no point it crossed my mind that I might be in danger of losing my stuff!!

Oh, plus all the Settings (like Ring Tones ect) are as in August...!!

Help!!!! It's getting on my nerves and I dont know what to do! I'm still hoping all the info can magically get back somehow..................... 😟(((((
