iTunes - Step 7 of 7 waiting for items to copy - hanging

After leaving it running all night it is still hanging in 'Waiting to copy'

I have deleted the 'itunes photo cache' in iPhoto and deleted it from the trash and restarted iTunes, connect the phone and tried again.

Everything up to date;MacBook Pro running Lion 10.7.2 and iOS5 all installed.

Any solution to the problem would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.User uploaded file

Bought myself an iPad Mini (the Retina version), restored from an iCloud copy (as my previous iPad Mini had crashed and burned on the pavement, and me trying to save a few bucks...long story - it crashed) and connected to iTunes on my iMac (OSX 10.8.5) - result: wait while items are copied [:|

After many retries here is what I did:

1) while the iPad was connected to my iMac (via USB) and iTunes "doing the 'lets wait' dance" I pulled the USB from the iMac and put it into a MacBook AIr with Mavericks (OSX 10.9)

2) approved the computer on the iPad when asked to

3) started iTunes and sync'ed - in a matter of seconds - literally

4) closed iTunes on the MBAir

5) closed iTunes on my iMac

6) pulled the USB from the MBAir and inserted it into the iMac

7) started iTunes on my iMac and sync'ed - IN A MATTER OF SECONDS

I actually re-did the #7 a couple of times because I did not believe my own eyes 😉

what just happened? Well, I don't know exactly but I suspect iTunes to stash some advancement-stats and if these stats somehow get f'ed up, if you'll pardon my french, using another someones iTunes (even though there is nothing for you to sync there) will clear the stats...but that is just me guessing

hope this helps someone
