Iphone 3GS slow after update to iOS 5

After updated to iOS 5 my Iphone 3GS became generel slow.

Graphics and starting apps are slow. Some apps have now up to 10-15 seconds start time.

I thought closing the Iphone and restart clould help, but NO.

Yeah, like OS windows upstarts. 😁

Ok. processor not the same as new Iphone 4s.

I started to regret my update to iOS5.

Just restored performance on my iPad 1 and 3GS using the General Settings->Reset All Settings trick. Both devices have been running terribly since iOS 5.

So far I've tried the restore as New device setting, and the restore from backup, and aside from some device settings needing to be reconfigured, losing my background etc, the device is working great.

Just do a backup first, for paranoia reasons, but you don't need it. The new device restoration is the best.

It's early days, but so far it's quick now, although the apple support site runs very slow on my iPhone, but other sites are fine.

Try it and see if it works for you.

The issue seems so be solved, on my phone. After a few months of misery after my update to iOS5, I just updated to 5.0.1, and the unexpected seems to have happened: my iPhone is snappy and responsive again, and apps don't crash.

I say 'unexpected' as '3GS slow' was not on the issues solved list for 5.0.1. But I tried it anyway today as I was about throw my phone through the window, smash it on the floor, kill it with a hammer, for failing me all the time.

Let's see if stays okay like this.

1) You're bored and you like putting together really difficult puzzles and you think it's cool when you get done and find there's a few pieces missing.

2) You're a very compassionate fellow and you are drawn to share people's pain that you may offer them comfort and console them as one who know's their suffering.

3) You thrive on righteous indignation and find there's no resentment like a justified resentment.

4) You're borderline suicidal and just need that little extra push.

5) You're tired of getting all those pesky phone calls, interrupting your life and waking you from a good nap. "Honest, Ma, my phone's broke!"

I am supporting over 1300 iPhone users and we have had reports of the 5.0 and 5.0.1 slowing down the devices both 3GS and 4 phones. (4 phone that came with 4.x) slow app and camera is slow to start and take the photo.

I have done all support task reported by apple and no real fix, we have had somepeople think Turing off calendar notifications helps but did not see and change my self. If so not a real fix when VIPs are missing meeting.

My experiences with IOS 5.x so far, initially it did make the phone seem more responsive and snappy however this quickly deteriated to the point now where sometimes just tapping in the unlock code can have a 10 second wait for the phone to actually respond and unlock. Apps are sometimes delayed on loading, and when I recieve a txt message the alert sound stutters and sound like a stuck record repeating itself over and over rapidily. For me this is a sign of the hardware not having enough processing power for the software. I would say Apple have optimised the code foe the new prcoessors and thus de-optimising it for 3GS.

If I had the choice to go back to IOS 3.x I probably would, but it's not an option now as I'm forced by Apple to IOS 5..

Sort it out Apple or you will find yourself in a pie very soon!!
