iPhone 4S unable to turn off 3G?!

How on earth do you turn off 3G on the iPhone 4S that is really stupid if they actually disabled even if it is to make Siri better

That's great news. What i'd really like to see, however, is some mechanism to set a toggle like "When connected to WIFI, disable Cellular Data & 3G"


Or at least a handy app to one-touch switch between the two. I'm on Fido, and even when on WIFI, anything I download counts against my data plan unless i manually go in and disable CD&3G.


Nice to see Apple's heard our cries and put the seperate option to disable 3G back in tho.

There is such a switch, it's called "Cellular Data". That disables all data (whether it be Edge or 3G) but keeps calls (GSM or 3G) and wifi. What rob2010 was asking for was some automatic thing that turned off data when on wifi, when at the moment it's a two-step process.


But I don't see the necessity of that. When on Wifi, doesn't the iPhone stop using cellular data anyway?
