everyone is really bugging me about unlocking 4s, all i had to do was

1. get contract from vodafone

2. request that the phone be unlocked as i was going away for 2months and wanted to use a local sim

3. person said cool were sort it

the next day i done all they requested and my phone still wouldnt work so i rang apple and guess what the lady on the line said apple dont lock the 4s meaning all 4s are unlocked all you need to do when you get them out the box is restore them using itunes in doing so it unlocks the phone so i proceeded to restore to 5.0.1 and done now have a unlocked iphone only problem now is i get the d-d-d-d-d-dd--d-ding stuttering phone and siris voice has changed but i know how to sort the begger out

You can unlock your iPhone for free using an unlock form on the network providers website, the links are quite hard to find, probably for obvious reasons, they don't want you to leave them.

This website has a bit near the bottom of the page about iphone unlock, you can click the links to go to the unlock form, I done it for my phone, after you fill in the form you get a txt message back after a while saying it's been unlocked.
