Hi, ive just bought the 32GB iPhone 4S from Vodafone, here in the uk, now im actually on 3 Network, how do i unlock the phone to accept my other sim card? the iPhone 4's were factory unlocked
Contact Vodaphone. They are the only ones that can unlock it.
You ask Vodafone to do it for you. However, I doubt if they will until it's been used for several months on their network.
BTW, the iPhone 4 was not factory unlocked. I wish it was as I am having a lot of trouble getting Orange to unlock my old one!
if it was purchased from Apple, it was factory unlocked. like the 4S, if you buy it direct from Apple then it is factory unlocked to any network,
also i spoke to Apple and they said speak to vodafone, and vodafone told me to speak to apple :/
Correct, but you were talking about when the handset was bought from Vodafone. The 4 was locked when purchased from a carrier, same as 4S, as you are experiencing.
Vodafone are the only ones who can arrange the unlocking, but as I said above, I doubt very much if they will do that so soon into the contract.
If I purchase 4S from ATT, would they unlock it for me. I am flying to Pakistan and like to use loccal SIM card.

You can get the Iphone 4 unlocked from Orange for £20 or less on Ebay. Do a search for Iphone 4 unlock Orange.
I've had both an Iphone 4 and an 4s unlocked via this method so I know it works without any problems, The iphone 4 was unlocked in 3 hours, the 4s took 2 days.

Hi to everyone! I bought the new iPhone from Vodafone UK! I knew that it will be locked, so i called apple to ask them what i have to do! They told me that i have to go to Vodafone shop and told them that i want to unlock my IMEI to be an official unlocked iPhone! So, yesterday when i went to Vodafone, they told me that they can't do this! I mean, that they can't unlock my imei and i have to do an unofficial unlock!! It seems that the guy that told me that, didn't even know this process of official unlocking!! Any ideas??
You're out of luck don't even bother calling apple or att , they are in bed togtherℹ; unless you want to be a pingpong ball! They won't unlock your iphone not even after the end of the att contract! If you just bought it return it an get an unlocked one. if not, you're stuck with the monopoly of ATT👿.
