Siri does not give directions in Canada!

It was very clear to me when I got mine on launch, but then again, I Google a lot.

I am however getting imapatient, and would like an update soon.

No one told me **** about siri's directions not working in Canada. For shame apple, the most hyped feature of the 4s and it doesn't work in the second largest country on the face of the planet kudos to you for keeping it hidden. Well done for not telling anybody. This is my first iPhone and this far the experience has been seriously sub par. I broke my last android, I thought I'd give the iPhone a whirl, and i haven't even had a chance to plug it in and I'm starting to lament the choice.

So sounds like Canada still not working for directions and such in the 5.1 upgrade as I hear it? Haven't been able to download it yet, but that would be very frustrating. I was really hoping it would be included in this update. If not now, when?

All Apple has said is that more countries will be added in 2012.

So the new iOS 5.1 is out, I updated and yup no Canadian siri support. Come on! If then next updated dose not include Canada support for siri i might have to switch it up. So glad I didn't pay full price for my phone I would be ****** if i spend 900 for my phone for a function that didn't work 100%. This dosent seem like apple to leave Canada out but I sure hope they figure it out.

If you spent $900 on something JUST for a piece of Beta software, you shouldn't be allowed to have money lol

You KNEW it was Beta, and you knew it couldn't do locations in Canada yet, just be patient... I KNOW it *****, but Siri is still insanely useful, just open your maps app and talk to it. It's a 2 tap workaround, not life threatening.

I'm sure we will see Canada locations allowed sometime in 2012 (which was made very clear from the begining), so sit tight.

At launch I accepted the fact that it would be delayed but when it gets to 4 months sitting tight it's beginning to become ridiculous. I'm guessing at the way apple is taking their sweet time providing the necessary data to use Siri in Canada the iPhone 5 will be out and I should have waited... Not particularly patient anymore!

Do you have a choice? Seriously, is there anything you can do that will make it happen faster? If not, I don't see the sense in wasting energy being agitated. Submit your feedback to Apple and go on with your life.

Ok, I can solve this rediculous discussion right now. Siri does work in Canada. However only certain features of it. It WILL NOT give you directions anywhere until you cross the border into the U.S, and for the record I am an english speaking Canadian, so this accent crap is just that, I got the phone 4 days ago and tried. While I was at home, all Siri would tell me is "I can't do that, sorry!" I am currently in Virginia visiting some friends, and have discovered the full effectiveness of Siri. It's a wonderful feature, just wish it worked to its full potential in Canada.

I wonder now that Apple has annouceed IOS 6 will use their own technology rather than Google's for maps if this will delay the roll-out to other regions.

Apple hasn't announced anything, don't feed the rumours.

I can get Siri to give me directions in CAnada. Quite simple actually.

Don't ask "can you tell me the closest Tim Hortons"

Just ask "can you map Tim Hortons in Duncan BC" and BINGO, there are your answers!
