Anyone else having this issue?
My network is fine. I have 2 new 4s and one works with siri, the other keeps telling me it's having network issues.
I reseted the phone to factory settings, once restored, I activted SIRI, then turned of the WIFI and turn it on, then reactivated SIRI and it worked..for the time being.
To get Siri to work, you can turn around three times in your living room, put the iPhone under a chair, and then shout Olé! If the Apple servers come back up during that time, I guarantee Siri will work.
Try turning off and on the WIFI.
The same thing is happening to me but when i turn off wifi siri turns right on and works. It is my office wifi that is creating the problem. Not sure why
I am also finding that Siri works just fine over 3G, but the moment I get home to my wireless, it says' I'm unable to connect to the network' so when I turn WiFi off on the phone, it goes back to 3G and works just fine.
This is really irritating for me as well. I tried all reset and restart. Nothing seems to work. Is Apple aware of this or doing anything about it at all?
Siri has been giving me the network down error since yesterday. I've tried all the "fixes" short of a complete restore of the phone and nothing works. I called Apple and they told me that the Siri servers are down, but that doesn't explain why it's working for some people and not others.
I encountered this problem Last night for several hours. I could not find any help here so I decided to reinstall iPhone and went to bed. Today it works again no problem. But what's the cause of that problem I am not sure.

Barry
I had good success by double tapping the home button, pressing and holding the first app, then pressed all the little ex's to free up the resources that a bunch of backgrounded apps were consuming. That worked form me.
What did not work:
If it is true that Siri requires a network connecton to Apple's Siri servers, well then folks, kiss your privacy goodbye when using it.
IF YOU HAVE THE OLD SIRI APP and it is running in the background,CLOSE it and that will fix the integrated Siri for you.
Wow I was getting very angry until I realized that was all it was for me...
I tried rebooting, quitting all apps, turning off/on WiFi, resetting network settings, turning off/on Siri... none of those worked.
I just erased all content from my iPhone 4S and restored it from a backup. Now Siri works.
I did the same thing. Resetting network settings and siri didnt help. I'm on Verizon network. My spouse's Siri wouldnt work but mine did so it wasnt the network connecton.
I backed up the phone with iTunes (so it's much faster - as compared to iCloud). Then went to Settings, General, Reset, Reset All Content And Settings. When it booted up I temporarily set it up as a new phone and checked if siri worked... which it did. So I erased all content and settings again, this time restoring from backup... and again siri worked flawless from this point on.
Restoring the phone worked for me.
If Siri consistently gives the message "Cannot connect to the Network" try doing a "soft boot" on your iPhone by holding down the Home button and the On/Off/Sleep/Wake button at the same time until the Apple appears on the screen. The phone should recycle and reset itself and it should work ok.
While Siri was giving the error message interesting enough "Find Friends" wouldn't work either. After the reboot everything is fine.
This worked for us.
She is still not working for me although I did do a full reset. Saw a news article that said she was back up and working today. :-( Guess not.
We are all in the same boat. Siri is great when she works, but I was just getting used to it and now I can't connect. I do understand BETA though, so I can't blame Apple. Think about it folks...Microsoft and Vista...and it was not BETA!! Apple is a great company and Siri will only get better! (no, I'm not an Apple employee, just believe in their products)
