My iPhone 4S has a yellow screen.

My iPhone 4S has a yellow screen. When I put it next to my 3GS you can really see the difference.

Does anybody else have this issue?

Hi, I don't know how to post to this forum, I am new here. I only see how to reply. I have to tell you what happened to me. I got my 4s the day it came out, 3 of us did, all black models. Screen was vibrant normal and no yellow at all. My phone was dropping calls like crazy and AT&T had me replace the sim, that didn't help, so I went to apple and they gave me a new one. It was so yellow, and the battery drained from 100% to 30% in hours, my first one the battery was great. Went back and they changed it again, and this screen was even worse. I called Apple and I stated this is my 3rd phone and my dis pleasure. My screen looks bad. Also with the yellow screen, the glass is not as smooth, so I do think its a different manufacturer. Had I known this I would have dealt with the dropped calls. They are sending me a new one, and I made it clear the screen better not be yellow. So we shall see. The stickiness to the glass bothers me even more then the screen does, and all the ones with the yellow tint, do not have a smooth feel to the screen as compared to my original one and the other 2 iphone 4's in the house. It is unacceptable to have a yellow screen and thats what you need to tell them. You don't pay all this money and have to waste time and effort returning phones, they should all be within the same guidelines. I could see slightly off but the difference between my last 2 was drastic. That is not acceptable to me. I didn't pay for that and thats not what I am going to settle for. I don't know who to write to in order to complain. Not to mention my phone was a month old and the new ones they gave me both has issues. They replaced a brand new phone with 2 phones that had issues. Sorry to say, dont settle for the yellow screen, I dont buy the glue thing they are saying because as I said the touch also feels different and the touch is more sensitive on the vibrant screen and smooth. I know because my hands hurt to text on the 2 new ones but didn't hurt on the original one. I went from a 3gs and my 3gs has a way better screen as far as no yellowish. How can they even be able to do that? The yellow screen even hurts my eyes. Totally un acceptable.

Good thought about the 90 degree switch in polarization. However, I rotated my 4S to the horizontal and kept the 4 vertical. The 4S still has the yellow tint. I believe the problem is with color temperature. I would imagine that a firmware fix could solve the problem by allowing users to adjust the color temperature of their displays to suit their pleasure, much like you can adjust the color temperature of your television. Same principle. Apple engineers: are you listening???

Purchased my iPhone 4s Dec 3rd.

Installed everything only to notice the yellow tint to the screen as well as a washed out look to everything. Very noticeable and unacceptable.

Phoned apple support and they said take the phone in to the nearest Apple Store and get a replacement.

When I get there I'm given the biggest song and dance by the Genius staff about how some phones have slightly different colours to their screens. Like I'm the one being fussy! I point out to him that his phone, my iphone 4 all have a better looking screen. He doesn't back down. This is after support offered to send me one in the mail, no questions asked! Then after that he says that that's it. I have to choose between the first phone or the one he's offering me, no others will be offered up if I'm not satisfied. Also I couldn't get by the basic startup screen so I was only getting the smallest glimpse of the colour casting of the screen. What kind of support is that? Very poor treatment. Now as it turns out the screen on the new phone is till yellower than my iPhone 4, not as washed out as the previous iPhone 4s, but still has a yellow tint, but according to the Genius staffer I have no option to return it.

Hey Man,

Sounds like you went through EXACTLY what i went through. Im looking through the forums again because I got my phone swapped out with a yellow screen but now i have a baseband issue where it crashes and carrier goes into 'searching'. So i need to get the phone swapped out again. I dont think I can get lucky with a good screen and working network phone.

Anyways I urge you to watch my video at:

I had the searching issue once. What's wrong with these phones all being different? Some have good batteries and some don't. Some drop a ton of calls and some are fine. My first one dropped calls non stop. This one don't at all. My new screen is perfect. My last one even looked greenish on some pages. I got mine straight from Apple. Seems like the genius bar gives out to many defective phones.

Hi guys, I just wanted to tell my story as well. First off I've read all the posts on the yellow screen tint issue with the 4s on these forums and all of your replies have been helpful. I ordered my iphone 4s black 64 gig on Dec 1, 2011 and recieved it approximately Dec 21, 2011. Serial number starts with C39. At first I did not noticed the yellow tint until browsing some of these forums and then picking up on this thread. I immediately went to the basement and dug up my Iphone 4. The difference is night and day my iphone 4 is very cool blue where as my 4s is of the warmer yellow tint. Although i should note it is much lighter yellow than some of your pics on these threads. So I call apple customer care and get mike on the phone. I told him my issues with the screen and horrendous battery life. He puts me on hold and then comes back reading from an article evidently from there engineers? He tells me its a known issue and states i need to wait 30-45 days for screen burn in and it will go away. I told him ive never heard of that long a period to burn in a screen. I then ask him to set me up with an appointment with the genius at a local apple store and i have an appointment for saturday at 2pm. I asked him when i get there those brown boxed phones they allow u to switch out to are they refurbs? he tells me no! He goes on to say that they are direct from the manufacturer but have not been used. I then say to him ok what do u guys do with all your iphone returns throw them out? he didnt have an answer for that lol. So my dilema is i just spent 400 on a 4s and I would prefer not to get a refurb as a replacement any thoughts?

Hey, how much hours off maximum brightness did you leave your screen on? I always leave my brightness low because I have OCD and don't want to reduce my LCD life span. I can't see yellow tint on my phone, but when I compare it to my brothers iPhone 4 (I have iPhone 4s 64gb), his screen has more contrast and has a "cool blue tint" compared to mine, which looks washed out. So I'm really curious if having max brightness will change my screen to a more cooler display, thanks.

Hey guys , I have the same problem , the screen of my iPhone 4S (64gig white color) is yellow. Actually I noticed that instantly but I deceived myself and made myself fool into thinking that there must be something wrong with my eyes. So i even did not bother myself to google this issue until today. Oh god , I did not believe in my eyes but believed in Apple.

Now my problem is no longer related to my iPhone , my new problem is that i can not forgive myself.

Anyway , will this be helpful that if i put it to the maximum brightness ( despite i own it for about one year) ?

My iPhone 4S has a yellow screen.
