waiting for changes to be applied

My iPhone 4s never finishes syncing. It just says "waiting for changes to be applied" and continues to sync. iTunes is updated to 10.5 (141) and a brand new iPhone 4s.

I sync my IPhone 4 and IPad 2 with new Macbook Air. Syncing IPad is OK, syncing IPhone - the same like threeshoesva (I waited 8 hours, still nothing happened...)

Oh wow. It may sound totally crazy, but as Dan Ventresca said (Aug 6 2013, 2pm):

Make a phone call.
I've had this problem off and on throughout the life of my Verizon iPhone 4S, but I only discovered this simple fix when I received a phone call during the "waiting for changes to be applied". Next time iTunes hung during "waiting...", I called a 1-800 number from the iPhone. When I ended the call, iTunes was done syncing. Sounds crazy, but it's worked everytime.

It works! I'm in the UK myself, so it's not just Verizon that it works for.

I've started to have this after itunes was updated to 11.11.1, Mac OS X 10.8.5 (supplemental 2) Ios 7.0.2 on iphone 4s. Ive tried installing from a restore, recreating the entire itunes library then making a restore (taking about 5 days) as still the issue goes on..

Odd odd thing from 11.11.1 is that sometimes after cancelling the "Waiting for the changes to be applied" itunes stops the sync but the phone thinks its still syncing til its restarted - Ive thried the odd "Make a phone call" I ven tried throwing salt over my shoulder clicking my heals and saying a mantra and nothing works. the only way fpr sync to complet is NOT to SYNC any music (Have over 12,000 tracks all downssmpled to 128 AAC to fit on phone so loading takes about 8 hours anyway).

This seems to have been triggered by the lates OS X supplemental update itunes 11.11.1 update and IOS 7.0.2 updates cooming together as worked perfectly prior to this under ios 7.0, itunes 11.11 and OS X without supplemental

Just like so many others on here... iTunes not syncing right, constant updating, upgrades that are obviously NOT tested by Apple prior to forcing them on us is ridiculous. And the fact that we have to constantly do this crap without the care of Apple is unacceptable. Yet, we now have Apple products that are no better than crashing Microsoft products.

THANKS to those who have made great suggestions on how to fix the problem with iTunes. I'm in the process of restoring my iPod 5 yet again. Then I get to wait as it downloads 10,504 songs onto it again.

Get your act together APPLE!!!! 😝
