Siri- "Sorry, I am having trouble connecting to the network".

When using siri I get the error message, "Sorry, I am having trouble connecting to the network". I have spoken to a few others who receivec the 4s today who are getting the same error message. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Siri has been giving me this message since the day that I purchased it. I've tried multiple resets and restores, but the problem persists. My perception of Siri thus far is that "she" is a steaming pile of excrement!!

Siri is turned off and my voice dialing is lightning fast now.

In the course of two weeks I've had really poor experiences with BRAND NEW Apple products.

As a Mac owner since '84, I find it very troubling when the Apple person's response is "it happens."

Not the Apple I'm used to.

I really miss Steve. He would never have tolerated this crap.

An Apple supreviser told me today that "Siri is a Beta program and that it is a work in progress". She also gave me a second excuse and that was "there might be to many people on the network and that is why I can't connect to the network.

First I have no idea what a Beta program is, she keeps repeating it like know. Second most people I know get paid to test new products, not pay $400 to test a companies product for them. Third the commercial did not say anything about Siri being in the "Test" phase of development.

Anyone else noticed that Siri Assistant as a stand-alone has disappeared from App Store all together? Looks like Apple's intention to not supporting it for iPhone 4 and prior with iOS 5. It has stopped working the day I updated. Removing from multi-task bar, reboot, even removing from iPhone 4 then restore from iTunes has no effect. Then I tried to access Siri support from App Store - poof! They are not there any more.

It may be clearly marked on the website, but when you go to buy an iPhone 4S they sure as h*ll don't mention it or the fact that it will work only intermittently and NOTHING like their ads plastered all over TV. I just bought my first smart phone 4 days ago and I'm very sour on the experience. Thought I was getting a robust product and it's anything but. Apple should be ashamed for their stealth beta release. I'm p*ss*d! Jobs is spinning in his grave...

Amazing how well Siri works in the TV ads isn't it?Any lawyers out there who are ticked off enough to contact the FTC?

That being said, I love my new iPhone. I changed over from a Palm Pre and the iPhone is much better. Faster, great screen, great camera and scanner. I can live with the early Siri problems but do wish that Apple would tell the truth about it. Perhap they should quit advertising Siri until they work the bugs out and just advertise the 4s on its merits -- which are many.

Add me to the list of lost network connections on Siri. Worked great when I got it, but started having problems with her yesterday. Very frustrating, I really like this feature. That's the reason for buying the phone anyway. Called Apple today, got the same generic answer, had me reset the network setting on phone blah, blah, blah........my problem with this is why doesn't Apple just say ok we have a problem and we are working on it just to be patient with them. I would fine with the truth, not all the bs and spinning around doing unnecessary crap that wont fix the problem.

Keep your panties on everyone jeeze. Mine still isn't working and I'm PO'd big time, quite cranky about the whole thing actually. But 2 minutes of research before buying the phone reveals that Siri is still in development - that's beta, deal with it, it's gonna get better. For those yammering on about false advertising, FTC, and lawyers - you have 30 days to return the frakking phone.

I lost my connection to Siri 51 hours ago. Symptoms were straight-forward: Voice texting produced three purple arrows followed by no text; Siri was Sorry that she was having trouble connecting to the network. Same thing on my roomate's 4S.

THE FIX: I used the Erase all Content and Settings feature on the 4S. iCloud then restored my content over the course of 10 minutes.

I can't find the original poster of this Erase All Content post, but, THANK YOU! Now I can voice-text again.

Once again Apple has released a product with all the hype and NOT delivered. Siri was a main feature of the iPhone 4S...but now that they are having MAJOR Siri Server/Siri Network problems and Apple is silent about what is happening. Read all the non-Apple forums and you will discover that Siri has been crashing all day Thursday & Friday Nov 3rd & 4th. I barely comes up and then crashes again... And in all this APPLE is silent. If you happen to call the iPhone support, and actually get through, they will tell you "Sorry, but this product is really in Beta and we can't really comment on Siri" Essentially tough luck. If you go to Apple's second level support, they will kindly send you a tech support bulletin dated Oct. 17th, (BTW that's after the much hyped announcement and release) in which the fine print tells you that Siri is in Beta and they really can't provide any service level commitments... In other words..."Hype the great features of Siri, get the masses to buy and then NOT deliver, NOT communicate about the problem and then Apple has the audacity to hide behind the statement...Sorry, it's really in Beta and we can't promise anything... but, thanks for your money anyway.

When will Apple learn to be direct, open, up front and honest in their communication? I upgraded 7 iPhone 4 to the iPhone 4S based on the cool Siri feature... They are ALL being returned and I am dropping back to my iPhone 4.

Ok seriously QuitTheLiesApple? You are obviously not here to help anyone, so I would ask you to leave Apple Support communities. These forums are meant to answer people's questions. But, since you had the nerve to start this, I might as well end it. First of all, anyone with the slightest bit of intelligence would not need 7 phones, and they would test one before buying 7. Second, Apple has hidden nothing as they announced from the beginning that Siri was Beta and is not perfect.

To the rest of you:

Try turning Siri off, wait 10 seconds.
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. iPhone will take a few seconds to reboot.
Turn Siri on, wait 10 seconds.

I live in the DFW area and I seem to be having the same problems as everyone else right now. It's getting a little bit annoying now. Hopefully they plan on increasing the servers, especially if they decide on extending this feature to the iphone 4. I cant imagine what sort of problems there would be if Apple tried to add the iphone 4 user base to Siri. This thing would be pointless. In all fairness, they did say it was a personal assistant and it's technically Saturday 7:45pm, I guess Siri doesn't work on weekends 😠

You obviously were not paying attention to the keynote when they announced the iphone 4s. They clearly said several times that Siri was in beta. They could have waited until the next version of the iphone but then everyone that got the 4s would be just like the 4 guys right now complaining about not having Siri. Be patient. I am frustrated it isn't working for me right now. I wanted to find some restraunts near me but it can't do anything right now. Now with over 6 million 4s phones out there they have a big beta test pool to get this stuff working right.
