can't turn 3g off on iPhone 4s

It will be interesting to see in light of my earlier post, if it will be possible with the 4S, has I have heard it mentioned on this forum that with the 4S having the Qualcom chip that it might not be possible to switch off 3G via the toggle switch.

Wonderful news!!! We have prevailed. Apple has announced the return of the toggle. Still in beta but we will get back and soon:

Can you confirm if this 3G on/off really came back in the final 5.1.1?

No it's not Back. It has nothing to do with Apple other then them listening to AT&T. The button was removed per their request. They are wanting to phase out the EDGE network, which is crazy because they can't even get the 3G working right. Loved my iPhone when I was able to turn 3G off... 10 hour battery and good coverage, I just really didn't see a problem. Oh and for the Internet speed, I have wifi everywhere I go and if for some reason I didn't it was acouple quick steps to turn 3G back on.

I've just receive the answer of a specialized blog here in Brazil, and here they allowed to toogle the 3G.

Hope Apple stops its "love" with AT&T and fix this problem.
