My Siri does not understand anything I say. I have an Indian accent but most other voice recognition softwares work well with me. Is it Siri or is it me? A big dissapointment as I bought an IPhone 4S to use that extensively!!

I too have Indian accent andSiri is not working for me. I am disappointed with the purchase of 4S.
It took a couple of days, but Siri did manage to learn my wife's Filipino accent. She just has to make sure to annunciate properly.
Hi Raymond, would it seem like Siri is "learning" your wife's way of pronouncing words or is she learning to speak American?
I don't have an accent and Siri understands most of the words I say, but then she has no idea what to do with them. So getting her to understand you is only half the problem!

Never knew the Galaxy had its own voice recognition software. They should really tell people about it...

For people with Indian accents-
Settings>Siri>Language>English(United Kingdom)
This is the closest you can get to making Siri recognise the Indian accent.
I have a Norfolk accent (English countryside). Siri struggles with my accent and makes up all sorts of words or sentences for what I have said.
