I have a 2008 MBP running Lion with Safari 5.1.1.1. On several web pages I open that contain adds, these stupid Mac Keeper adds continually appear. If possible, how can I block them from appearing?
This should work work.
1. Click on "Safari"
2. "Preferences"
3. "Privacy"
4. "Always Block"
5. "Manage Website Data"
6. Wait a couple of seconds and a long list of websites that have data on you will pop up.
7. In the "search" field, type "mackeeper"
8. Click "remove"
Thanks Klaus -- I just installed Glimmerblocker. I'm not sure how it works yet or if it will block these annoying Mac Keeper ads, but it's worth a try.
The Safari AdBlock extension works.
You can access the settings from Safari / Preferences - Extensions after it's installed.
I haven't seen a MacKeeper pop up using either Glimmer Blocker or the Safari Adblock extension.
Klaus -- Glimmerblocker did the trick. I just went to the DrudgeReport where I normally am confronted with the Mac Keeper ads, and the page displayed with no ads whatsoever. Thanks again for the tip!

Between the two adblocks you should be ad free! I use both.

Have you tried any of the suggested extensions? Safari/Safari Extensions to download.
I use Ad Block Plus and I just use Firefox because I prefer its toolbar. I'll see if I can edit websites in ABP.
