Sim Card Failure No Sim with iPhone 4S Anyone Else?

Got the new 32GB iPhone 4S today from AT&T, activated the phone was working all morning, I started experimenting with Siri and a couple minutes later the phone was hotter than usual and I get Sim Card failure, and Bad SIM messages. The phone now only says No Sim. I get home take out the SIM card and put it in my previous iPhone 4 and it works just fine. I then put in a blank micro SIM into the new iPhone 4S, but it still says NO SIM. Thinking the SIM reader got fried some how already.

Anyone else have this problem maybe a bad batch out there, or I just got an unlucky lemon?

I made an appointment for the genius bar tomorrow, but I seriously doubt they will have replacement stock of the 4S already. Guess I will find out what my next course of action will be tomorrow trying to get a replacement since new orders are taking 30 days to ship I am afraid I will have to wait awhile to enjoy the new features of my already paid for phone 😟

a fix might be: Swich off the simcards pincocde.

not the best fix - but worked for me

Had the same issue on a 4S. Same SIM in an iPhone 4 with 5.1 beta works great.. Will get a replacement 4S on Monday.

It is interesting how 5.1 beta will work on 4s. Appreciate if you let us know. I am kind tired constantly rebooting my device. Forced to use my old 8800 )

5.1b1 fixed some problems for some peoples.. but another peoples have the same problems like they had with 5.0.1.

iOS 5.1 beta doesn't fix the problem for me. The 5.0 was fine on my 4S. It really ****** me off how they ignore it. I've filed a bug report, emailed some people... no reply what so ever.

U can't back to 5.0 now , Apple locked 5.0 , now u only can use 5.01 or 5.1 beta

It's seems to be bigger problem, than bettery drain. At least more crusual for every day use.

guys,

i bought 4s 2weeks ago (factory Unlocked).

Model starting with MD2

and IMEI with 0130

i was facing same problems of sim failure and no service.

i hav fixed both problems and my 4s is working very well now from past 4 days.

No service:

solution:

remove sim card and restore the fone frm itunes.

put ur sim only when activation is required.

problem solved

Sim Failure:

I hav used vodafone micro sim twice but i was getting the SIM failure every hours in the begining

Then i decided t ochange my carrier to Qtel with new micro sim.

And its been 4 days and i hav not got any SIM failure / no service / invalid sim error.

note:

I hav put cellular data off and wifi on . it is saving lots of battery and my battery is lasting for whole day plus standby overnight.
