Why won't siri make phone calls?

same here in Indonesia. Siri won't make phone calls nor set reminders. what's happenning?

I was having the same problem

my phone bought last week from USA. I'm in Sri Lanka. Only problem is SIRI. it does not make any calls. Please help me someone.I feel this as a bad feeling as APPLE is well reputed. I accept SIRI seems a BETA version. When the commercial version will be released ? How to prevent this abnormality before release the commercial version of SIRI.

As far as i know , siri is dependent on accessability to Yelp search engine server. Pretty sure that server is not available worldwide. When - may be never, beta does not always become alpha, sometimes it just dies. There are

many problems that every manufacturer encounters, espeacially with services that are connection dependent.

Hi i just get my iphone4s in malaysia but then i found i face same problem ad mentioned tat siri cant make call to anyone in my contact list, anyone can help to solve the problem in malaysia

For Indonesia set up siri and set region format ... it will shows on the screen 5 Januari 2012 ....

Siri wont make phone call in Indonesia, till Iphone 4S coming officially but you may do some trik like.

Say to siri "(name) contact" and then you may tap the number it will call directly.... hope is work with you.

Mine got same problem. The way is you have to +6 and the local number. There you go.

SIRI worked when you add + with your country code and your phone number . For example like Malaysia +6 012-1234567. So that the other country.

yes, Noremyman, you are right, after i follow your way, change the number (+6012XXXX), then i am able to use Siri to call in Malaysia, thanks man.....

Same here in french polynesia ---> country code +689 .....

International calls = OK but not local calls.

well now, iphone 4s is officially in indonesia. but i still can't make siri to call a local number. any idea?

I had the same problem, but I think I have figured it out.

Make sure all your contacts have the +(country code) in front of their numbers, but you also need to make sure you do the same with your own phone number. Go to your contact card, and change it there.

Since I did this, Siri has worked perfectly making international and local calls.

i say dial 1 xxxxxxxxxx and SIRI dials it.

YEEEEEESSSSSSS, it now works perfectly.

Deleting the "+" on a local contact made it possible.
