Why won't siri make phone calls?

Siri is simply an US only half baked feature. I am having this silly problem for 2 years now.looks like Apple is not concerned about it's South Asian market.

I have a similar problem. I am based in Zambia and I simply cannot get Siri to dial a local Zambia landline or cellular number. Regardless of the format I enter in the number.

Our cell numbers are 10 numbers in the format 09xx xxx xxx

If I enter the number in the format above, or use the international equivalent for Zambia which is +26 09xx xxx xxx I still have no luck.

I think I have tried all the work arounds suggested in this post and nothing seems to work!

However, if I try to call a foreign number for example in the UK or USA it goes through fine

Any ideas?

(I am using an iPhone 5, iOS7.0.2, and MTN Zambia simcard, International settings is set to 'Zambia')

Sadly, it seems that there is not quick solution. Here in Chile, the problem desapeared when i upgraded to IOS 7.02.

It seems that Apple is solving the problem every time it releases a new IOS, but only for certain countries each time.

Same problem for siri not calling my contacts..Im in mozambique, Maputo i tried everything reseting siri, rebooting iphone, on/off facetime, turn off icloud, i passed long time on google trying to had the fix for siri saying "sorry i can call person with that number"
plz apple make the fix, i had this problem since ios6....

My all contacts on mozambique are with the CountryCode.. (+258) local numbers has 8 numbers without country code

You have to have 9 digits after the country code, so add enought + sign to have 9 digits after country code

How many digits do you normely have after country code ?

Make sure the numer is correct

@wthory contacts here in mozambique localy are 9 digits..i was wrong when i said 8 (wrong counting)
Example"

Number with country code +258 84 1234567
Number without Country code 84 1234567

84 is the number of the providers here in mozambique
84 for vodacom, 82 to Mcel, 86 for movitel

When I say Siri to call someone from contact it says sorry I can't call using that number. What's the solution of this problem?

In my country standard room (998), the country (90) statement (1,681,169) phone number. in iPhone it looks +998 901681169, out of this, Siri can not call him. Why? Please choose a problem. Uzbekistan

When dialing *228, it says the number is not allowed.
