WiFi keep dropping after iOS 5 upgrade

After we upgraded our 2 iPhone 4's to iOS 5, my son's latest generation iPod, and my iPad 1 to iOS 5, they all seem to drop their connection rather quicly. I cannot understand why this is the case. Does anyone know why this might be happending? It is very frustrating, as I have restarted the router and all Apple devices. My iPhone acts like this as work, too.

Im starting to expirence this, not only is it exceptionally annoying that its starting to just randomly stop but its VERY EXPENSIVE

Expecially in Australia when you get charged 1 cent per KB over your internet limit on the phone. It quickly adds upt to $100's of dollars without you even knowing.

If apple knows it has an issue like this, it should atleast make a public announcement so people can take steps to monitor it until its fixed so they do not get a $2000 bill.

I'm of the opinion that apple may have even introduced this on purpose. it seems to be their tactic when introducing a new IOS around the time of a new phone release. Last time it was to slow the older phones down to an unusable speed, now its to sky rocket their customers bills so they go out and purchase a new phone as a solution because its too expensive to keep using the old one.

I seriously hope someone takes the initiative to take apple to court to get a refund for their bills.

*Puts his tin foil hat on* They probably even knew about the issue, but went ahead with it anyway as they knew it would benefit their telco partner's.

I just followed the above, wifi dropped straight away, wont solve my issue at all, laptop is fine, IPAD 2 , iphone 4 and 4s all terrible, its costing me in 3g now to watch catch up programmes, seriously annoyed and thinking of changing from apple to a more stable tablet for the kids to watch and play with, ipad is not suitable anymore 😟

I'm having these problems with my iPhone 4s.

I'm on iOS 7.0.3 and have tried all the reset type options on the phone with no improvement.

There's lot of talk on here about changing IP addresses and router setting but I'm sorry, they are workarounds not solutions plus that's hardly going to help on public wifi networks.

I don't have this issue with my iPAD or my Macbook Pro and quite frankly, without the Wifi, I have a cr@p phone with some half decent utilities that costs me a fortune in connectivity via 3G.

Where is the Apple response to this?

How many people experieincing this problem have named their device with an apostrophe in the name, for example "Joe's iPhone"? We were experiencing the loss of wifi connectivity on my iPhone, my wife's iPhone and her iPad. Since removing the apostrophe from the name of each device, for example calling it just "Joe iPhone", we have not had the problem.

It could be that certain routers have a problem handling named devices where anyhting other than letters and numbers are used.
