So here I am at 11am with my phone that I reset last night. It is factory fresh with only my icloud activated because I needed my contacts to get through my work day. It has not been plugged into iTunes at all. I have everything turned on that I would normally have on, including all notifications, siri, find my phone, etc.
I unplugged my phone from the charger at 7am this morning. My phone was not intense with heat like it had been previously. It is now 11am and I am at 94% battery life. This includes having wifi on the entire 4 hours except the 30 mins I was in the car. I have used the phone like i normally would this morning. Few phone calls, lots of txt messages and the occasional safari use.
This is obviously a huge improvement and probably close to optimal. I'm now going to add my email accounts but leave the calendars turned off. After I see the phone is continueing to work as normal, I'll probably sync all my music and apps. I'm going to avoid doing a restore from backup, and just continue to treat this as if I never had a previous phone. Then if the battery continues to perform well, I'll go ahead and activate my calendars to prove to myself that, at least in my case, the calendar is the direct cause of my drain. If i get the calendars turned on and everything continue normally, then i will assume something went terribly wrong during the restore process.
Thanks for reading.
