Hope someone reads this and is willing to test the same.
I noticed that WIFI is connected continuously using the logging on my Draytek router. My routers access point (AP) logs an entry when a wireless device connects but in this case, and more importantly, also when it disconnects. I see the MAC address of my 4S being associated to the routers AP but when i lock the 4S, it never disconnects. This is weird since my old iPhone 2G disconnects from the access point 30 seconds after i've locking it. This situation will drain the 4S' battery more quickly.
I noticed in my DNS logs every few minutes a dns request coming by for pushmail, every 10 minutes or so. Now, i dont have Mobile data enabled when i'm at home, just wifi. Could it be that because of having Mobile data disabled, it enables the wifi interface the do the pushmail request and keeps it enabled?
Now get this, i enabled Mobile data and after locking the 4S, within a few seconds the Wifi interface disconnects. This means when using pushmail, it forces the WIFI interface to come online in the case when Mobile data is disabled.
